Let's Talk About The "C" Word!

Not that "C" word...dirty birds....I meant CANCER! Everyone knows someone that has struggled with some form of this deadly killer. There are more than 100 types of cancers; any part of the body can be affected. Deaths from cancer worldwide are projected to continue rising, with an estimated 12 million deaths in 2030. Lately there has been a lot of fabulous fundraisers for different types of cancer. This weekend marks 2 very different, yet equally fab opportunity's for people to pitch in & help! First is The Relay For Life. This is a great community based, grassroots event that has been taking place all over the country. Starting tomorrow Boy & his pals from "The Blueberry Patch" will begin to walk in Gulfport, Florida's version of Relay For Life....Although not as big as New York's or as start studded as L.A.'s the goal is the same....To raise money to help in the ongoing fight against "The C Word" (again that's cancer people) To donate to The American Cancer Society & the Relay For Life click on the pic & follow the links! Now the next fab, fierce fundraiser is hosted by the always on point Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence~The Tampa Bay Order. The Sisters are heading to Sawmill Campground (no really, a campground) for their Annual Wigdrive Benefiting the American Cancer Society. What better way to help out the cause then partying with these Ladies! The overnight stay has become a favorite amongst those in the know! I am Filing This Under This Under "Duh" & A What Do I Have To Do To Get A Show? Sleep With A Palin?

A lot of you have been emailing asking why I have not posted anything about Ricky Martin coming out. Mainly because I didn't want to be all "I told you so...." I will say this....The fact that Ricky is Gay & has been living life as a Gay man has been an open secret for years! Whatever the reason he decided to say publicly what we all knew for a long time is his business. It will be interesting to see how Ricky's handles his new position of unofficial "Gay Spokesperson"! Because whether he wants it or not he now holds that title....I am sure Ellen is grateful to hand that crown off to "Mr He~Bangs"....Come on....You know I had to do it!
Speaking of "banging" Levi Johnston just announced that he is getting his own reality television show, which has been dubbed, Entourage on Ice. Ummm, ewwww! This brainchild of a show follows Levi & his friends as they travel around Alaska reminding us why he is one of the states biggest assets~Pause For Effect~Johnston says he & Tripp (that's the baby he fathered with Sarh Palin's daughter....Loving that story) will be on the show, and maybe Bristol, but definitely him and his friends. Does that mean Kathy Griffin will be making a appearance? Are they still pretending to date?!?!? Ya know what I think would be fabulous?!? If Levi's show beat Sarah Palin's in the ratings?!? She would imploded! Again Fabulous!

This Saturday April 3rd marks the one year anniversary of the Iowa Supreme Court's unanimous decision in Lambda Legal's landmark marriage equality victory. "One year of equality in Iowa has made same-sex couples and their children happier and more secure; made gay people everywhere prouder and safer; and reinforced the State of Iowa's leadership in protecting the rights of its citizens. That's a big win for everybody. This has been a transformative year for gay and lesbian Iowans and their children" said Camilla Taylor, Senior Staff Attorney at Lambda Legal and lead architect of the Varnum v. Brien lawsuit. "And our opponents have not succeeded in taking equality away. Thanks to the hard work of our partners at One Iowa and leadership in the legislature, the freedom to marry remains protected."

I Wanna Be Just Like Sarah Palin & Other Isane Ramblings!

Nobody panic but it's the end of the world! That's right TLC parent Discovery Communications confirmed Thursday that it has obtained global rights to an eight-episode show tentatively called "Sarah Palin's Alaska." Ummmmm, Boy About Town is not happy! First question~When did Alaska become Sarah Palin's Alaska?! Second of all, Boy has not 1, not 2 but 3 TV show in delevoplment & I swear it is like pulling teeth to get anything done. (Sarah is seen here with fellow outta touch, right wing nut Ted Nugent, even she looks scared!) Discovery said what it bought was a "documentary series" about "the remarkable Governor Palin and her home state of Alaska." I think they bought a headache! So how is it the woman that most of America considers a punch line has landed a TV deal?!?!?! OH, it is on TLC? Okay it's all coming together for me! Let us not forget that TLC is home to such "stars" as Kate Gosselin & tattoo queen Kat Von D...and now Sarah Palin! I wonder if she can get me 5 mins with the person in charge of casting?!?!? Just sayinnnnn!

This next "story" so typical of my life in the sense that it is full of extremes! Point in case~I stopped by The Flamingo Resort last night in St Petersburg, Florida which is near my winter retreat. I thought I'd grab a few drinks with friends & off I go. Low key, no big Boy About Town in the house type thing...I looked less the Red Carpet ready! Well as it turn out Alexis De La Mar was hosting & this lady is anything but low key! She hosts Twisted Thrusday & last night lived up to it's name! With an amuter strip contest & some drinks (thank you very much Gerry & David Baker) the evening was a hoot! These 2 pics were snapped backstage ~Pictured are Chris Clark, Boy About Town, David Baker & the guys David looks to be chocking is named Patrick. The tan yummie guy, well I never got his name...or his number...damn! The the other pic is Boy About Town, Drew, Alexis & Sable De La Mer~ Okay that was fun, now cut to this morning when my day began at 6 am! Off to my first meeting which only took 2 mins, thank God, then off to have coffee with 2 Haitian refugees. Let me explain~I am working of "Boy's Buzz Blog Special" that will cover everything that is going on the island nation now & how the world is helping. I have a "dear friend" that is in Haiti right now & we have been chatting throughout his stay. When he returns I will put the finishing touches on the "Boy's Buzz Blog Special~Haiti" but before I do that I wanted to talk to these 2 people that love their native land but were forced to leave by the earthquake & the aftermath. So another friend aranged this early morning coffee talk! It's gonna be an posting amazing! Speaking of which I have a few other "Boy's Buzz Blog Specials" in the works. I having been putting together a "Transgender" blog posting, in which we take a look at the facts of being Transgender as well as well what that means in today's world of facebook, google etc. American Cancer Society is having it's annual Relay For Life & we are going to talk about what that is why it's important. And yes the "Boy's Buzz Blog Special" with The Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence is getting closer to being finished! In it we take a look at the organization as whole, from their start in San Francisco to becoming a world wide powerhouse that does good works while looking fabulous. I spent some time with The Tampa Bay Order of The Sisters & got to see the behind the scenes work that goes in to all they do. It was amazing. Each Sister has a story which leads to the larger story of The Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence~We will bring that to you soon~From backstage with the half naked boys (and some fully naked ones as well) to breakfast with 2 people with nothing in the world but the clothes on the their backs this is my life...This is Boy's Buzz!

Two men face up to 14 years in jail in a case that human rights activists say is a test case for gay rights, as well as one that could undermine efforts to curtail Malawi's devastating HIV infection rates. Steven Monjeza & Tiwonge Chimbalanga were arrested in December at their home in Blantyre, Malawi, for professing love and marriage in the traditional way. Police "discovered" the couple when local newspapers reported on their engagement ceremony, known as a chinkhoswe. That sounds like a real top notch police force.... They clued in only after the NEWSPAPER reported their engagement?! Remind me not be a victim of crime in Malawi! Let's be honest, most of us had never heard of Malawi until Madonna went there & ended up adopting 2 kids, opening a school & was even seen out in the daylight! And let's face it, anywhere Madonna goes Queens do follow! And for years Madge has made it her personal mission to teach people the truth about HIV/AIDS...long before the first red ribbon was seen in Hollywood! With these 2 things in mind Boy About Town has got to ask..."is the government in Malawi nuts?!?!?"....You, at long last, have the worlds attention & have chance to help both your young parent-less kids as well as do something to curb the out of control HIV problem your country is facing & this is what you do, arrest 2 Gay men for throwing an engagement party?!?! Meanwhile, Monjeza and Chimbalanga appeared in court this week. They were together, bound to each other -- by handcuffs (not the matching jewelry they had in mind, I am sure)!!!! I am telling Madonna...and Bono for that matter!

In the next few hours Liquor Tycoon Martin Silverg will declare Vodka Wars in Times Square against Hip Hop Mogul Sean “Diddy” after his controversial comments against American Vodkas. After announcing “If you’re not drinking Ciroc vodka, then you’re drinking pee pee” at Greenhouse, NYC, the owners of Georgi, Argent, Alexi vodka and other spirits are demanding an apology from the French made Vodka celebrity spokesperson. In this war, liters of Ciroc Vodka will be placed into a large toilet bowl and then hand delivered to “Diddy’s” office near Times Square. Wow this story has so many layers of tacky I don't know where to begin! First off, Sean “Diddy" P. Diddy" "Puff Daddy" Combs...or whatever his name is this week has used the term "pee-pee"! See that is a great story! Bad ass, from the hood, gangsta uses term "pee-pee" to describe a bottle of booze! Martin Silverg's upcoming stunt that includes a hand delivered toilet bowl is equally shocking!

From The Fabulous To The Funky.....

First we are going to mix some celebrity citings with a FABULOUS cause~Last Night in NYC at the First Annual DOWNEWITHFASHION Event celebs came out to show that not every press seeking person of note in The Big Apple is without a soul! Ten fabulous young women with Down Syndrome, who aspire to be a designer and/or a model, were given the opportunity to walk the runway at Kings Road Home. Among the people of note that came out to show their support were Alex McCord and Simon Van Kempen of Real Housewives of New York City, recording artist Ryan Leslie , DJ Juske, celebrity stylist June Ambrose, and sports illustrated model Irina Shayk and the whole thing was hosted by famed model Jessica White. Here is Boy's thing~Down Syndrome is the most commonly occurring chromosomal condition. One in every 733 babies is born with Down Syndrome. With such a large number of people affected by Down Syndrome why is we still push these people to sidelines? Last night just the opposite happened~These 10 women were allowed to strut their stuff & live their dreams....BRAVO to all for a fierce evening!

Now from the fabulous to the insane~JWOWW & Ronnie of Jersey Shore "fame"...well maybe not fame but of Jersey Shore note?!.... have signed a deal to write a “guido guide” on how to achieve their lifestyle. Want tips on how to do nothing for a living, why turn to these 2, I have tons to say! Anywho, they are it calling Never Fall in Love at the Jersey Shore ...Boy About Town thinks the book should be titled "STD's 101" or maybe "Look Where Fist Pumping Has Gotten Me" . Snooki is said to be very excited for the books release....on itunes, cause God knows the girl aint reading no book!

Now on to the insanely stupid~The Los Angeles premiere of a Religious Right group’s film has been canceled after Americans United for Separation of Church & State exposed the organization’s track record of virulently anti-gay rhetoric. The film title “Islam Rising: Geert Wilders’ Warning to the West, (nice, huh?!) & the event was sheduled for May 1 but with the truth about Christian Action Network (CAN) coming to light nobody in their right mind will touch the premiere. In one of their letters to CAN supports President Martin Mawyer attacked comedian Ellen DeGeneres, saying she had “DUMPED HER FILTHY LESBIAN LIFESTYLE IN THE CENTER OF YOUR LIVING ROOM” and referred to her as a “SODOMITE.” If he does like her daytime show he should defintly avoid American Idol this season! The CAN's feelings of hate don't end there, check this quote out~ "With all due respect to those dear people, my friend, God Almighty does not hear the prayer of a Jew."--Bailey Smith. Here is the moral of the story....Don't hate on Gays & Jews then try to host a fabulous event in L.A.! Hello?!?! Not gonna happen!!!

Alright Already...Boy's 5 Least Favorite Celeb Interviews!

Well I as I promised to forever ago I am going to name my 5 least favorite celebs that I have tired to have some quality PR with Boy's Buzz. I have been very busy being Boy About Town, which is not as easy or as cheap as sounds. Please note the photo showing Boy working behind the scenes...Don't I look so serious! So I have heard you all complain that I needed to get myself in gear & dish the dirt on who dare to cross Boy About Town & his crew of misfits! (I knew I was taking to long to post when my brother called & asked what was taking so long? My mid-west living, pick-up driving, flannel wearing brother reads Boy's Buzz! Take that Sarah Palin)....Anyway here they are!

#5~Pauley Perrettee~Before any of you start sending me MORE hate email the reason I think this is one of our worst interviews is because, well, because I was not there to do it! I love Pauley! You see Boy was booked for LA Pride 2009 so I asked D-$ and Kid About Town to go in my place & work the red carpets & get the behind the scene scoop on the drama backstage stage, remember it was PRIDE...Us Queens get pissy around that time of year! Well don't you know the very first party was the Mayor's Reception at The Factory. D-$ and Kid About Town caught up with Pauley Perrette, who plays Abbey on the hit show NCIS . Well poor D-$ had no clue as to who she was or why she had been brought to him for an on camera chat, what follows is ackward & painful to watch. Pauley was fabulous & pulled the whole thing together & manged to talk about marriage equality ! She even sent me a lovely email afterwoods offering to do a sit down with me! Brave lady huh?! and chatted about her church going ways! Hollywood United Methodist Church- MCC is a gathering place for those open minded folks that live in LA! Overall a bad interview but I wasn't on camera so it only rates a number5

#4~ Suja Lowenthal~Now I know most of you out side on Cali are asking "how do I say that name & who is the person attached to the hiccup"...Well Suja married into the Lowenthal family which is Cali's answer to the Kennedy's...Minus the money, crimal past or tragic death after death. Well Suja was born in India, hello Suja is not excectly a valley girl name now is it, and with her in the mix along with the families contacts in DC everyone thought this little lady is bound for greatness! She easily won the race for city council in Long Beach. So Boy made it a point to become BFF's with the woman everyone thought would be Cali's Governor someday. She was lovely to look at, well educated & had the support of Boy About Town! Everything was moving along smoothly until Suja was discovered having not one but 2 affairs! As if that was not shocking enough both men were cab drivers~I couldn't make this up if I tired. Well the press had a field day, but I took the high road! Well after a little time had passed I had someone put in a call to Suja. She would not speak to us, even me directly.I then started to pay alot more attention to the actually voting records of these people. So Boy went from funny Hollywood blogger to political commenter all thanks Suja's love of the yellow cab.
#3~David Moretti~Okay, in LA everyone has a movie idea to pitch or an album to sell. There is no way I could mention everything I get forwarded to me by PR people or even better you, my readers! So when Nikki Coldwater & I were asked to interview some of the cast from the TV Show "The Lair " we thought why not! I will cut to the chase & say we interviewed David Moretti and Brian Nolan from the show & while Brian was so nice it seemed to me that someone forgot to tell David that is is NOT Brad Pitt. It was a hot summer day (reminder co-host is in full drag) then David was a tad pushy as to who would sit where...ummmm, it was our set not his. But what really put Boy into diva melt down mode was when I opened a note later that week from David. I thought he had sent us a thank you note...not really....he wanted to make sure I spelt his name correctly since it had been misspelled on a interview card durning the interview...OMG!

I can not pick between the next 2 so....it's a tie! My top 2 least favorite celebs that have locked horns with sweet, soft spoken Boy are James St James (seen here with
Mathias Brooks + Lenora Claire) & then there is Kim Kardashian. Thats right two people that are famous for well doing a whole lot of nothing. Nothing like me, I mean really nothing. And have any of you heard James St. James high pitched voice?! He sounds just like...um...never mind that point....but in both cases they agreed to be interviewed (Kim's people asked to us for the interview!) and then kept us waiting for about 2 hours before she blew us off & changed her mind. James just sounded drunk, which I can forgive, but Kim just blowing everyone off like that? You know who I really blame???? Ryan Seacrest! Okay the drama has been shared!!

Boy Inside The Beltway & Boy's Top 5 Favorite Celeb's!

As promised I am going to answer the question that was sent in by one of Boy's Buzz readers in Japan. I WILL list my favorite as well as my least favorite celeb's based on on my personal experience with them! But first I wanna touch base with the ongoing drama that is the U.S.A. Capital....Washington D.C. Let's kick it off with 2 hot button issues Gay~Marriage & God. The Humanist Society, a project of the American Humanist Association (AHA), announced that its celebrants are ready and able to perform non theistic marriage ceremonies for the Washington, DC LGBT community. Humanism is the idea that you can be good without a belief in God. The Humanist Society applies Humanism to daily life through a unique celebrant program, education and community involvement. Humanist Celebrants conduct Humanist, non-religious and inter religious weddings, memorials, baby naming and other life-cycle ceremonies. I truly don't care what anyone feels about Gay~Marriage as long as the don't force their beliefs on me during my hunt for my future ex~husband! So if this group wants to perform Gay~Marriages I say bravo....Now if they would only find me a groom! Wait till ya hear this one! The Republican National Committee plans to hold an April fundraiser at a Moyock, N.C. compound owned by the military contracting firm formerly known as Blackwater. That's right the same "Blackwater" that was brought before a Congressional hearing on human rights abuses charges in Afghanistan & has since changed it's name only to find it's self back on Capital Hill a few weeks ago facing the same type of charges. The the "Right Wing Nuts" that make up the leadership of the Republican Party looked all over this great land of ours & couldn't come up with ANYPLACE other then this armed camp, home to a group that Republicans themselves once called "shameful"?!?! I believe there was a conference room available at a Motel 6 in Camden Ark that you fine folks could have gotten on the cheap!

Alright enough! Let's get to the dish shall we....The other day I received an email asking me the following question "with you having interacted with so many celebrities which have been your favorite & which have been your least favorite. And on what are you have these judgements" -一能靜
Well what a fabulous question & here is the equally fabulous answer. First, Boy About Town's favorite 5 people of note that have spent on my mic (I mean microphone people!)

5~Nina Flowers~I was lucky enough to be the first person to interview Nina after "RuPaul's Drag Race" ended & neither of us were ready for how the public would react o her. They adored her! Nina was so humble about the attention & love she was receiving that it was amazing to watch her become a Super-Star right before my eyes! I have interviewed her again & that same humble person is always there...ready to transform in THE NINA FLOWER!...Work Loca!

4~Kyle Puccia~ When I first interviewed Kyle he had just left the stage after performing his hit dance single "Fruitloop Daydream" which of course meant he was out of breath & sweaty...loves it! While I can say Kyle has light that shines from within & he is one of the nicest people ever to come outta the music world the real reason Mr Puccia has made the list is he is fun interview & no matter what comes outta his mouth he looks good saying it!

3~Kelly Rowland~This Grammy winner has stepped outta the shadow of her former group "Destiny's Child" & into her own. When I sat down with her to talk about her TV show, summer hit single "When Love Takes Over" she was pure class! Kelly was due to sing the next day in Atlanta & promised to perform one of my favorite songs, her hit single "Work..Put It In"! Well when she came off stage without performing that song Boy was in the wings...not happy! Kelly solved the problem by stopping our interview by belting out "Work...." as pictured here! FABULOUS!

2~Kim Zolciak~Some of you think of this lady as nothing more than a wig wearing, chardonnay sipping airhead but never before have I, Boy About Town, started crying during a pre-interview. Kim was so sweet & before I knew it she had me talking about every detail of my private life & telling her things TMZ would kill to know! She has a brain under that wig & she is always using it!

1~Beth Grant~Beth seems to be in every major movie to come outta Hollywood in the past 20 or so years. Donnie Darko, Speed, Little Miss Sunshine, Rain Man, To Wong Foo, A Time To Kill...The list goes on, but it perhaps it is her portrayal of "Sissy Hickey” in Del Shores Sordid Lives that has made her an icon to so many, myself included. So image my shock when Beth Grant comes to do an interview with yours truly & she is in full Sissy drag!!!! The interview was a blur....I was star stuck, hasn't happened since but it happened that day. She did the interview as Sissy...the whole interview! After she went to press the flesh & promote the Sordid Lives TV Series that was due out shortly she returned to our "mini studio" to hang out & brought along her fabulous family! We ended up hanging together most of the evening. When I called her a few weeks later to ask if she was willing to come to a "Drag Queen Bingo" night with me she said yes...as long as her appearance would benefit "The Trevor Project" which is a 24/7 suicide & crisis prevention helpline for gay and questioning youth! Okay...It's official Beth Grant is Boy's favorite interview of all time!

Boy Visits His Roots...Gossip!

For the past few days I have blogged about some serious topics. I truly believe in today's world we need balance between thoughtful "reporting" & fun, carefree blog postings....With that in mind let's visit

Boy's Buzz Box...This is plain old gossip! If that offends you stop reading......I thought you would keep reading! First off Naomi Campbell has struck again...literally. The worlds angriest woman over 6 foot reportedly punched her driver Miodrag Mejdina in the back of the head while being chauffeured in Manhattan yesterday afternoon. Mejdina did what any smart, well built man would do when faced with a pissed off Naomi Campbell....he jumped outta the car, ran like his life depended on it & called 911! Although he suffered bruises and a swollen eye, he isn’t pressing charges. (Campbell is seen is this photograph striking the famous "Oh No You Didn't" pose favoured by Drag Queens & Jerry Springer guests alike) “There shouldn't be a rush to judgment,” said one of Ms Campbell's very overworked reps said. “Naomi will co-operate voluntarily, and there is more to the story than meets the eye.” Quickside note, when your client gives someone a black eye you might wanna avoid using the word "eye" in any statement....I'm just saying! Real Housewives Update....There have been rumors flying all over the net about Kim Zolciak & DJ Super Star Tracy Young carrying on some hot & heavy affair....For those of you that are outta the loop Tracy is one of the biggest DJ on the scene....and she is a woman....and a Lesbian. Okay, we are all caught up~As may of you know Boy has interviewed Kim Z as well as bonded with her over a glass (or two or three) of wine & I will say this, if Kim loves you, or as she says "adores you" then she loves you full blast! Maybe people are misreading what is just a great friendship. Or maybe they are doing whatever it "ladies in love" do with each other (Boy is kinda clueless as to what that is but I can Google it!) Or maybe, just maybe, Kim & Tracy are having a huge laugh at the massive amount of attention we are all giving this topic....Next time I chat with Kim I may ask her about it...or maybe I will have to tune in to next season of Kim's show to find out the answer...Oh wait, that is what this is all about, huh.....FABULOUS! Let's move on to another one of Boy About Town's favorite divas...Frenchie Davis. With her hit "You Are" still burning up the dance charts (Lady Gaga who?!) Ms Frenchie is turning her intense attention to her next move towards world domination. This is the plan~A chart topping single that gets tons of radio play that will be on everyone ipod & will put Frenchie front & center. With this plan & a movie due out shortly 2010 will be Ms. Frenchie's year. Okay I got this email the other day from a reader in Japan & they asked me "with you having interacted with so many celebrities which have been your favorite & which have been your least favorite. And on what are you have these judgements" -一能靜 Great question! I will be sure to answer it in depth on tomorrow posting. (I will also try to figure out how to pronounce your name!) There are some "celeb's" that need to be exposed a the total jerks that they are, but then again there are some amazing, gracious stars that I have fallen in love! Oh I can't wait! I also am following the ongoing drama in the beltway in regards to the District of Columbia's nod to same-sax marriage & the necessary Congressional waiting period. Lisa Miller Proves "Straight Born Again" Does NOT A Good Parent Make

Here is story that is both heartbreaking & encouraging....Follow me on this one~Judge William Cohen of Rutland County, Vermont issued a warrant for the arrest of "former" Lesbian Lisa Miller Tuesday who disappeared with her 7-year-old daughter she once shared with her former partner, Janet Jenkins. The Judge ruled that Miller was in contempt of the Vermont court for failing to turn over custody of daughter, Isabella, to Jenkins, as ordered.
Miller and Jenkins (quick side note, in the photo I used here Lisa is the one in the pink sweater, a favorite choice among the "former Lesbian" crowd!) joined in a Vermont civil union in 2000. Isabella was born to Miller through artificial insemination in 2002. This is where it starts to get very "Jerry Springer"....The couple broke up in 2003, and Miller moved to Virginia, became an evangelical Christian and soon after, "renounced" her homosexuality.
The Judge had ruled that Miller was to transfer custody of the child to Jenkins on January 1st to Jenkins, the born again, former-Gay, fugitive has decided that life on the run is better for a child then a loving home...Ummmm, okay?! This story is heartbreaking for all the obvious reasons but let is take note that a judge saw that at one point this was a family & little Isabella deserved to know BOTH of her parents. So while I believe that Lisa Miller will be found, life on the lamb is really not easy, trust me on this, the long term damage to the child is what I think we need to worry as well! Kudos to Judge William Cohen for seeing this case for what it is...a messy divorce, just like any other!

Hello Seamen!!! Get your minds outta the gutter~
Lawmakers were notified by a letter from US Defense Secretary Robert Gates that a decision by the Navy could have the first women on nuclear submarines by next year. We all know that with a 2 front war STILL going on that enlistment in the U.S. Armed Forces is at shocking low numbers so this latest step to take discrimination out of The U.S Defense Department is a welcome by most everyone. Notice I said MOST & not every person. The US armed forces still bar women from traditional combat roles, but female soldiers frequently face the same risks as men in Iraq & Afghanistan, where bombings and other attacks can happen almost anywhere. There is already a right wing grass roots movement to keep the currant policy in tact. The move to acknowledge the hard work done by the woman of the Navy comes just months after President Obama announced his desire to end the "Don't Ask...Don't Tell" policy, which is seen by many as both hypocritical & ineffective. Does this mean America is, at long last, moving forward in it's thinking or does it simply mean the U.S. government needs bodies & it does not care if those bodies are Female, or Gay...or even Gay Females?!?!?!?

Crist Comes Out...In Support Of Rehab For Inmates, Biden & Dick Bump Heads & Boy Spends The Night With A Group Of Ladies....Kinda~

Oh how the Republicans continue to surprise me.....Florida Gov. Charlie Crist, once known for his support of prison chain gangs, is embracing an inmate rehabilitation effort often seen as "soft on crime." The Governor is locked in a race for the Senate seat & has been taking a beating for not be "Republican Enough" so this stance was a tad shocking...although welcomed.. As a former inmate myself (not a fun story) & a former abuser of drugs (also not a fun story) I can tell you that the two go hand in hand (drugs & crime that is)! The largest employer in the state of Florida is the Department of Corrections so the Sunshine State has a vested interest in locking people up, which they do at the second highest rate in the union. By giving people the tools that are needed to start a new life you are allowing them a fighting chance. So kudos to Charlie for a step in the right direction....Speaking of taking steps in the right direction, keep moving towards that closet door Charlie......

Did anyone else see this?!?!?!? Vice President Biden and his predecessor, Richard B. Cheney, engage in a virtual debate Sunday that highlights how little progress has been made over the past year in resolving the central national security questions raised by the terrorist attacks of Sept. 11, 2001, and their aftermath. Dickie showed that a bit of time outta the limelight has not humbled him at all. He was his usual not-so-charming-self as he bulldozed through the whole chat. At one point VP Biden noted "[Cheney] is not entitled to rewrite history without it being challenged." Ouch....

This past weekend Boy About Town & his ever growing posse spent the night with the Tampa Bay Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence for my upcoming special "The Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence....Life Under the Habit" I have to tell you that after all the events I have gone to, celebs I have interviewed, PR people I have put up with I thought I had seen it all~not so much! The Tampa Bay Sisters have got to be the most welcoming group I have ever spent time with. While fun & a bit crazy they work together as a family....a big, loud, drag family, but a family none the less. There is alot to go over so let's jump straight into the deep end, shall we?! The death of Alexander McQueen has been a shock to the fashion/music world but the details are still not known. He is what we do know.....The fashion designer was found dead the other day in his London home. Although it looks like Mr. McQueen killed himself it is to early to tell & I don't think we should jump to any conclustions yet. WAY back when Boy About Town lived in London there was a young, hip fashion designer that was causing a stir in the London fashion world (which was in need on a stir!) That young man was Alexander McQueen. I was lucky enough to meet him a few timestimes at Heaven & a few house parties and while always super sweet he was shy. Alexander was the cute guy in the corner with a grin on his face that said "I have a secert"....That same feeling came out at everyone of his shows! A true fashion legend has died & will be missed! I promised to tell you all about the rising tension with Britney's Spears world....Brit has violently lashed out at father Jamie Spears following a January 22nd court date concerning his conservatorship! Denied the chance to speak to the judge privately, Spears was reportedly forced to sit silently while doctors said she was still unable to handle her personal affairs. By the time they returned home, “[Britney's] bodyguards had to physically restrain her from hitting Jamie,” said their source. “Though Britney was out at the Grammy's last weekend (though closely watched by boyfriend/agent Jason Trawick), the tab’s source paints a picture of Spears smashing surveillance equipment in bedroom her while a guard posted by her father stands guard outside 24 hours a day to keep her from leaving. If relations between Spears and her minders are as tense as being claimed, this issue shouldn’t take long to become a public affair.

A Right~Wing Christian pastor in Texas is calling for an economic boycott of Houston because of the election of Gay mayor Annise Parker & the city’s plan to build one of the nation's largest Planned Parenthood facilities. Well if that that is all it takes to get these hate mongers outta town then I think every town in America should elect Drag Queens as Mayors & give away free abortions every Friday! The messenger of God, also known as David Grisham launched the boycott recently to provide a way for Texans to “take a stand for righteousness in the city of Houston." Ummm, okay lets see where this goes....Good old David even wiped out Boy's favorite "christian quote "This is not about the mayor personally," said Grisham, according to the Press. "It's not about personality, it's about principle. The election of an [openly] Homosexual person to a major public office brings with it a radical homosexual agenda. That in and of itself makes a statement,” he said. Ya know what else makes a statement? Trying to bring economic hurt on a city that, along with the rest of us, is struggling through this recession! But I don't think Christians should boycott Texas in anyway. Go to Texas. Enjoy Texas. STAY IN TEXAS!!!!!

Will this drama ever end? Last Friday was Conan's final 'Tonight' gig after weeks of dramatic and heated public feuds with NBC and Jay Leno. In the end, Conan opted to leave NBC, taking a $45 million buyout package as severance for Jay Leno taking over 'The Tonight Show.' As a part of the severance deal, Conan can't be the host of a show for any network until September. But he seems to have found a way of keeping his pale little self in the mix! NBC has picked up the pilot for 'Justice,' a legal show created by Conan's production company, Conaco. Well isn't something! At least we don't have to hear these two guys take never ending jabs at each other anymore! God I wish they would just kiss & make up...Now that would be a fun story to blog!!! Alright when I start to fantasize about Jay & Conan in a lip lock then it is time to go!

Mayor Sanders Takes The Stand & The Big Gay Supper Club~Atlanta Style

Well this story has certainly gotten the attention of alot of you Boy's Buzz readers. You have been emailing me enmass! Mayor Jerry Sanders of San Diego testified yesterday in the Perry v. Schwarzenegger trial about why he, as a Republican Mayor, former police chief & father, embraced marriage equality in 2007. Mayor Sanders (pictured here with his daughter) testified about the evolution of his own support for marriage equality. For years it was a clear cut case of right & wrong to Mayor Sanders. Then, as in many cases, something happened to change his mind. Years ago, while serving as Police Chief of San Diego he came to believe that harassment against gay people was wrong after seeing a good police officer hounded out of the department for being gay. Mayor Sanders also testified that he had shared a close relationship with his daughter, Lisa, who is a lesbian, and worried about her because of the persistence of hate crimes & discrimination against LGBT people....Yes even in Uber Gay San Diego! But the fact that as sitting Republican Mayor Mr. Sanders went on the record to stand up for what is right shows that his journey of acceptance is now complete. It took putting it in terms he could understand...losing a good cop, wanting his own flesh & blood to be treated fairly. Everyone knows a Gay person, they may not want to say they do, but they do. By taking just a few seconds of sharing our lives we to can move the fight for marriage equality forward!

Speaking of moving forward....Boy was recently in Atlanta & fell in love with the city as a whole. With so many cute neighborhoods it is easy to see why this city has captured the hearts of so many different groups of people! We all know about the insane nightlife...they call it Hot~Lanta for a reason....and the shopping was fabulous...but I was truly impressed with this little social club I stumbled across. The Big Gay Supper Club! The name says it all. "The Club" was founded to provide an alternative social outlet for the Atlanta GLBT community through an organized dining event. Every month, anywhere between 75 and 200 gay men & women come to enjoy a four-course meal at a featured restaurant, located within the Metro Atlanta area. Think of it as a circuit party set to food! I love this idea! The man with the plan is the very out going (and Hunky with a capital H) Rande Head. It was refreshing to see a person use their contacts & chutzpah to do something different! A stop at a The Big Gay Supper Club event is on Boy's to do list when he visits Atlanta this spring! For more info on The Big Gay Supper Club click the link!

DRAMA~From Sea To Shining Sea

This first story is a fabulous publicity stunt that has gotten the wrong peoples attention! The Weatherproof Garment Company installed a billboard in Times Square on Wednesday showing President Obama wearing one of their coats. The image, which is licensed by The Associated Press, was taken during the president’s visit to the Great Wall of China last November, before he was President. This company knows PR when they see it. They have renamed the coat “The Obama Jacket.” The Obama administration has asked that the ad be removed but the with all this press over the drama who needs the ad in Times Square? You can't by this kinda of coverage!

You all are gonna love this one~Lindsay Lohan has answered the question she is sure everyone has been asking....Ummmm, okay I will play along....What is her New Year's resolution? Oh that question, I thought she was talking about what the hell happened to her & her career! But let's stick with the resolution train of thought for a second~

"My New Year's resolution is to stop letting the lucky few that have my heart, try to constantly tear me down."

Where do I go with this one? First off nobody seems to tear Lindsay down more then Lindsay herself. The past year she alone has keep us bloggers in business. She is an amazing actress when she is focused & I even like some of her songs, remember she did have a few hit singles! But blaming your manic behavior on those around you is a step in the wrong direction. Maybe Ms. Lohan's resolution should be to focus on herself & her recovery. If she did that she might just reclaim her place in young Hollywood!

Speaking of young Hollywood~Authorities in Los Angeles tell announced that an autopsy on late heiress Casey Johnson has been completed. The cause of death has been deferred pending further tests that include toxicology tests and microscopic studies, which could take six to eight weeks to complete. Authorities found no evidence of trauma to the body. Johnson, 30, the heiress to the Johnson & Johnson fortune was found dead on Monday in Los Angeles. There has been much said about her relationship with reality star Tila Tequila. While in the middle of mourning the loss of her lover, Tila posted a farewell video online. Many of Casey's friends blame Casey's down spiral on Tila. Yesterday she refused to open the door when Johnson's pals Nicky Hilton (pictured here with tila & LAPD) & Bijou Phillips showed up to collect Casey's 2 dogs along with some of her clothes. Police where called in (and so was the paparazzi) as the three ladies had a tense exchange that resulted in most of the the dead heiress things & her dogs leaving with Nicky & Bijou. My question is this...what happened to the 17-carat ring Casey gave to Tila in that now famous & odd youtube video?! This story is far from over!

What Is Going On At CNN?

Don't get me wrong, I love CNN but lately it was taken a turn in the wrong direction. Just the other day the Atlanta based network reported that Rosie O'Donnell had a new girlfriend! Well I have blogged about the breakdown of Rosie's marriage to Kelli Carpenter but when CNN makes a big deal over the fact that the former "The View" co-host has started to date again it was odd. So either Boy's Buzz is in the same league as "the most trust name in news" or they need new writers....P.S. Boy About Town is available if that is the case. Call me Ted Turner! Since I have touched on the subject of Ro's new flame (CNN did it first) it is only fair to tell you a bit about her & show you a photo of the two ladies in love....Introducing Tracy Kachtick-Anders. Tracy is a comedian that launched Open Arms Campaign, a non-profit organization to recruit and foster adoptive families that targets the LGBT community. "I have become an activist and work to educate everyone, not only about the plight of foster children," she wrote on TheRainbowBabies.com, "but also the inequality that faces LGBT people in their quest to create families."

Everyone is saying that CNN executives are both shocked & embarrassed by Kathy Griffin New Year's Eve profanity-laced appearance. WHAT?! Here is some history...Last year Kathy & Anderson Cooper hosted CNN's coverage of New Years Eve in Times Square. She got into it with some hecklers & ended up making a very rude (and very funny) adult themed joke. So what did they think would be different this year when they paired the same 2 again? Well it was different, but not in a good way...Kathy kicked it off by dropping the F bomb on live TV, she also made a couple of jokes about needing a "bump" of cocaine (if you have to aske what that means then you don't need to know)) & asked Cooper if he pleasured himself while looking in the mirror. Poor Anderson looked lost & a bit pissed. Quick side note to the insanely sexy Anderson~if you want to unload about this mess & have a drink call me, Ted Turner has my number! So why where the powers that be at CNN shocked by any of this?! It's Kathy Griffin for God's sake! I understand that bottom feeding shows like TMZ & most of daytime TV along with the inter net have changed the way we watch TV & networks are trying to keep up but come on! FOX News has given into sensationalism a long time ago so maybe it was only a matter of time! Is that the lead CNN is taking? Old men screaming over other...Ewwww! Acceptance Through Visibility

I have always said that Boy's Buzz is a way to shine a fun, fabulous spotlight on those that work hard to make this world a better place. So with this posting titled "Acceptance Through Visibility" I would like to chat about some people that have each done a huge amount to ensure that the LGBT community is never pushed to the back burner of society. They have done their part, each in different ways, to move positive images of Gays into mainstream America. Boy About Town went from a Red Carpet in Hollywood to a fierce cafe in Ybor, Florida to track down these very different, yet equally FABULOUS high profile pioneers!
First up is Jane Lynch. Many of know Jane from the hit FOX show "Glee" on which she uses her superb comic timing to portray Sue Sylvester the over the top competitive coach of the Cheerios! Ummm, hello Golden Globe Nomination! Jane has been working Red Carpets in Hollywood for years now but with so much attention of late how does she balance being opening Gay in show business? She does it very well...Just watch & see!

Next up for a chat with Boy About Town is Ybor based "Teacup"....I call Teacup the Grand Dame of central Florida! He is one half of the couple known simply as Mark & Carrie. These 2 have carved out a community that is one of Boy's favorite places to visit when in the Tampa Bay area. Ybor is a neighborhood made up of old cigar factory's & shotgun homes. Seeing the both the potential as well as a need for a place for the freak & geeks to play (and shop) Mark & Carrie mobilized an army of volunteers to transform Ybor into the thriving scene it is today. Teacup has his finger on all the gossip in his kingdom...he knew our film crew was going to be there before I did! Enjoy our fun, yet truthful chat!

So did anyone else notice that Teacup & Boy where both really girlie compared with Jane? I'm just saying.....These & so many more people are showing the world that we can no longer be pushed aside, ignored & worst of all...given bad parts! Every week millions of people, many of them teenagers tune in to watch Ms. Lynch on TV. And if you want to get something built, torn down or just want to know what is shaking in Ybor Mark & Carrie's shop (MC FilmFest) is where you must go to. These friends of mine truly are teaching us that the best way to be accepted is through visibility....

This holiday story brought Christmas cheer to my life & I just gotta share it with you, my FABULOUS readers! A new one-man show about a Gay Santa Claus is whipping conservatives into a frenzy, including members of Focus on the Family! "Santa Claus Is Coming Out! is Jeffrey Solomon's off-Broadway play about St. Nick and his relationship with Italian toymaker Geppetto. A benefit performance of the satirical show aided the Gay, Lesbian, and Straight Education Network, which works to end antigay harassment in schools. Antigay conservatives have run with this information, using it as ammunition in their campaign against Kevin Jennings, the assistant deputy secretary for safe and drug-free schools for the Department of Education. Jennings, a gay man, founded GLSEN. " So here is a man with a sense of humor, putting his talents to good use AND he is pissing of the right wing nuts...I love this man! Everything is bigger in Texas!...Brace yourselves for this story....Annise Parker made history Saturday when she was voted in as Houston's first openly gay mayor. Parker, who served five years as city controller, beat former city attorney Gene Locke with 53.6 percent of the vote in a runoff election. Both are Democrats who faced off because neither emerged with more than 50 percent of the vote in the November 3 election. Other cities such as Providence, Rhode Island, and Portland, Oregon, have picked openly gay mayors but let's face this is Texas so winning there is big! Now here is what is a tad confusing to me. The voters picked Parker to lead the fourth largest city in the US. The have faith that she can handle these tough economic times. But few years ago, Houston rejected a referendum to offer benefits to same-sex partners of city workers. Also, the city sits in a state where gay marriage is against the law. So Annise can lead a city in a state where she is not an equal citizen...Enough Said!!!!

Boy Blogs Again....

I know it has been a while since I last posted & for that I am sorry. Truth be told something personal happened that I have been trying to come to grips with. It is a private matter so I thought I would deal with it privately....That plan did not work so I have had to come up with a new plan. Here it is...I will talk about it on this blog posting! After about 3 years together Ruben & myself have separated. We will not be getting back together. The events leading up to this decision are drama filled & their details will be debated for awhile. But what is clear is that this is what is best for both of us in the long run although at this time I feel like my insides are being ripped out. There has been some Internet gossip on facebook, myspace, twitter & yes even other blogs about the "blow up" that was the final straw, and yes it is odd to be the one blogged ABOUT instead of the one DOING the blogging, but that is the way it goes. Thank you you everyone for the well wishes & the late night phone calls! The system will handle certain things & we will handle the rest & life will move on, but rest assured that Boy About Town Town is back & still as fabulous as ever! And yes I will start blogging about the sordid details of OTHER peoples lives....promise!

Holiday Gift Giving Guide & How To Tip!

Well the Holiday season is here & that means people everywhere are looking the perfect gift for the people in their lives! Some of this is fairly easy. Find Mom that perfect cashmere sweater. Dad gets the golf clubs. Other people with get the very safe "gift card" & those we are still unsure about can always get the dreaded fruit cake! One of the hardest groups to "shop" for is service people. These are the people that make our day-to-day lives easier. This includes your hairdresser, doorman, mailman, dog walker & your friendly waiter. It is fun to give these special people something personal. I like to give fun, unusually picture frames. They are an item that will be used & seen every day. A good bottle of wine is a fun thing as well. My past doormen have always been happy to see Boy About Town show up with a bottle of vino!

As fun as that all sounds it is not always easy to carry around an extra bottle of wine or a wrapped picture frame so the gift that is always safe to give is....cash! Now lets talk about what is the appropriate tip for any given situation. Dog walkers & hair dressers are people that deal with some of the most important things in our lives....our fury babies & our hair (although Boy is losing one of those things)! These folks should be tipped after their service is complete & throwing it in a card would not hurt! Now when eating at your favorite local restaurant it is important to remember that your waiter is working for your money. Waitstaff make a very low hourly rate & after taxes their paychecks are all but gone...I once received a 2 week paycheck of 3 cents. So those tips you give are split between the waiter/the busperson/bartender. The industry standard for tipping is 18 percent-20 percent of the total check. The days of 15 percent went out with VCR's. That is what is considered fair. So remember, this time of year is all about celebrating those around us & letting them know how much they & all they do means to us!

As promised today's posting all all about new offerings from some of your favorite music artists & new releases from some up & comers! There are tons of people with new music out wanting your attention this time of year. Some of them, like Lady Gaga & Adam Lambert have done a great job of making their music known to the world. I want to shine the Boy's Buzz spotlight on a few others~We are going to kick it off with a very special lady (and one of Boy's good friends) Frenchie Davis! Ms. Frenchie has teamed up with Super-Star DJ Tony Moran to bring her new single "You Are" to a dance floor near you. While many know her as the "soulful one" from American Idol & others of you followed her every move on Broadway in such hits as Ain’t Misbehavin’ & RENT, just to name a few, Frenchie's latest offering is pure dance floor fun. Taking her lead from such dance floor diva as Amber, Kristen W. & Cher our own Frenchie has gone with a anthem that sings the praises of love while celebrating life & with her powerful voice behind those emotions "You Are" is a powerhouse! I was lucky enough to get a sneak this single about a month ago & I am not surprised by the huge amount of positive feedback Frenchie & Tony is getting...WORK MS. FRENCHIE! Another Boy's Buzz regular that is hard at work on his next dance single is Kyle Puccia! Although he is a very accomplished song writer Kyle is most recognized (at least to Boy's Buzz readers) for his upbeat songs which he brings to listeners with his sexy deep voice & over the top performances. With the pending arrival of "Missing You" Kyle will bring all that back with a touch of hype thrown in! When I mentioned in passing on MYSPACE & facebook that the new Kyle Puccia dance song was going to drop soon the response was fast & furious. That just goes to prove that "Italians Do It Better"....Well, at least some things! Twirl It Out Kyle! Another high profile name with a song to hawk is Romi Dames. Who is that you may ask? Well my tween readers out there will know! Best know for playing Traci Van Horn on Hannah Montana, Romi has released "Christmas List (Of Excuses)". While this is not going to have the boy's ripping the shirts off on a dance floor at 5am while they are "looking for love" it is a cute, airy holiday single that will be a hit with the target crowd. Romi makes me remember the fun of Christmas past with "Christmas List." There are of course a slew of people at are always working several different musical projects as well performing at venues all over the place. Tim Permanent has become a recognizable name in the LA area with shows at The Viper Room & a core fan base that follows him & his futuristic meets pop-electronic show anywhere. Some others do not seek the spotlight on a day to day bases but instead tuck themselves away to work on their own brand of music & then give it to the world in which ever manner they find fitting at the time. One such person is Moon Trent. Moon formed indie-bands such as Pale, Brownstar, The Visitors Kimberly, and The JULIAN. Moon continues to entertain as a soul indie-singer, song-writer while maintain a a bit of mystery around himself! I kinda like that! Rumor has a new song & a video are coming our way from Mr Moon! Hummm, wonder if thats is true?!

Boy Gets Thankful...About Time!
Today I am not posting any Hollywood gossip or political ramblings. Today I want to say what I am Thankful for, yes a day early. I am Thankful for all you readers. When I started this blog alittle over 2 years ago I had no idea it would become so widely read. The past 2 years have been amazing as well as difficult. The wreckage from my misspent youth came to bite me in the ass & resulted in tabloid coverage, but the fact that you readers have stood by me means the world to me! All the travel, red carpet events & celeb interviews are FABULOUS but I am Thankful for all of you! Don't worry, I will stop being all sappy & will post what you all have come read, right after the holiday! I have tons of great music news! Buzzing Wanda & "Adam~Gate" & Blogging On A Budget

Boy's Buzz Box....Wanda Sykes is making late night television history. The first out Lesbian to host a major U.S. network late-night show is promoting more than one incarnation of LGBT representation on her program. Funny lady Wanda tapped Porsche, a drag queen of Fire Island fame, to join the panel on her show. If the show does not get the ax soon, there are rating issues, Porsche plans to bring a little fabulous into the living rooms of American television audiences. OKAY, I was debating if I should even mention this but the whole Adam Lambert performance at The American Music Awards is being blown way outta proportion! Yes, he a went alittle over board with the whole shock thing...Grinding his crotch in their faces, frenching his keyboard player & the whole men on leashes thing was something else (that last one was fabulous)! But as Adam himself pointed out "I don’t mean to get political, but Madonna, Britney & Christina weren’t edited. It’s a shame. Female entertainers have been risqué for years."....Can anyone say double standard?! But one thing is for sure, the fact that everyone is talking about him, myself included, means he has accomplished something!

Boy Learns How To Shop.....We have all been going through a hard time with the sinking economy & everyone's looking for ways to save money, Boy About Town included. It is also no secret my shopping habits are not "budget friendly"! So when I went to the grocery store this weekend I brought along my right-hand gal~Tamara! Ms. Tamara is very unimpressed with the whole show biz side of what I do & is a very down to earth person that likes to get to bottom line of things! Most of the time Boy whips into a grocery store, grabs a prepared meal & a bottle of wine...or 2....and then dashes home. This past weekend Tamara & Boy spent over an hour in the store! There were tons of things that I love to eat that we bought that were 2-4-1! Shut-up, fab! Then there was the whole "unit price." Did you know bigger is not always better...no comment from the peanut gallery. Sometimes it is cheaper to buy 2 smaller boxes of cereal then one huge box. As we got into the checkout line I was feeling fairly fabulous about our shopping trip (even if it took over an hour) when all of the sudden Tamara reached into her purse & pulled out a jumbo sized binder full of coupons (where do people get those things)!! Now I know your all saying "big deal, everyone clips coupons"...Well I never took the time to do so & Tamara seems to have done nothing but sit at home watching late night TV with the Sunday paper on her lap cutting coupons! Well, our bill came to $221.66 before the famous coupons & after Jessica, our cashier, took the discounts off....$171.35! A savings of $50.31! If you want to learn to save money on the little things that add up to alot I will happily send Tamara to your local store to give "Discount Diva Lessons".... To celebrate I took us to lunch! Money well spent!

There is tons to go over before the weekend starts so lets get started with some hard hitting news....Nicole Richie!!! Yes, everyone's favorite ex-party girl, ex-Paris Hilton BFF, ex-chubby and new Mommy has returned to our collective consciousness! How you ask? In the form of courtroom drama! A Los Angeles judge granted a three-year restraining order that keeps two photographers away from Nicole & her two young children. Ivon Emilio Melo Miguel & Eduardo Cerri Arrivabene, have been ordered to stay 50 yards away from the mom & her two-year-old daughter, Harlow & her infant son, Sparrow, except for at "celebrity publicity events." In court papers Richie cites an October 5 car accident, claiming the photographers "caused a car collision, damaging my vehicle and injuring me while [they] were attempting to take photographs of my family and me." She went on to state "I am fearful that this continued presence may cause yet another accident, this time with my infant children in the vehicle." This coming from a woman that became a household name by being a hot mess on her own reality show along side media whore Paris Hilton?!? Sweetie, you asked for this fame & now you have it...Work it out! Quick side note~Our Miss Richie was JUST hospitalized for pneumonia, MTV News has confirmed. The socialite is currently undergoing treatment for the illness at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in L.A. "Nicole has checked into Cedars-Sinai, where she is treated for pneumonia. She is doing well."....her rep said in a statement. I guess all that Mommy business really took it outta her! Speaking of draining one's energy LaToya Jackson has issue a statement saying she is 'not ready' to see Michael's movie 'This Is It'...Here is a NEWS FLASH...I am "not ready" hear another word from her! Michael's death is the best thing to happen to her "career" in years! Go mourn in private, not on TMZ! Enough Said!

Now I want to make all of you FABULOUS Boy's Buzz readers aware of a very special day. Friday, November 20, 2009 is International Transgender Day Of Remembrance! If you don't know what that is do not worry, either did I (and I like to think of myself as fairly well informed)! The Transgender Day of Remembrance was set aside to memorialize those who were killed due to anti-transgender hatred or prejudice. The event is held in November to honor Rita Hester, whose murder on November 28th, 1998 kicked off the "Remembering Our Dead ” web project and a San Francisco candlelight vigil in 1999. Rita Hester’s murder — like most anti-transgender murder cases — has yet to be solved. That is an intersting fact, huh?! The discrimination felt by people that are Transgender is not just from the "straight community"! I am always shocked when I see or hear some of the things Gay people do or say towards the Transgender people in OUR community. The discrimination factor amongst our ranks is widespread & that my friends is sad. You would think that a group of people that have fought for so long against so many would be kind to one another, but no..."T" in LGBT is the last taboo & they still struggle for some degree of acceptance! This day is truly international. With memorials planned in Australia, Italy, all across Europe & yes even here in the good ol' U.S. of A. this is one day the Boy About Town & the whole cast of Boy's Buzz is proud to stand behind! As I explained to you, my faithful readers, in a posting last week I was unable to attend a fabulous event in LA recently....."Open Artists With Open Arms" which is a fundraiser put on to help LifeWorks! LifeWorks offers one on one, peer, and group mentoring opportunities for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender youth ages 12-24. There is a huge need to fill the void that is left in some of kids lives. LifeWorks helps LGBTQ youth to realize their goals and dreams with a safe space, positive and affirming role models, and workshops & activities that are fun and educational.When co-producer Kyle Puccia explained to me the amazing work this group does I knew I had to cover the event some how! Since I could not make it I sent 2 of my FABULOUS friends! Justin Reed Early, an advocate for homeless youth & author of "Streetchild", & star of stage & TV (and soon to be a dance floor diva) Frenchie Davis! So last Wednesday, I stepped in for my fav blogger-Boy About Town-to attend the annual Open Artists With Open Arms event, which benefits LIFEWORKS! What an awesome night! I had an absolute blast! The evening began with my plus-one, fab author of "Streetchild" Justin Early, picking me up from my place in his 1966 Thunderbird. HONEY, I felt like one of the pink ladies from GREASE (wait, wasn't there a Frenchie in that?) Anywho....upon our arrival, I was called out to be interviewed in the Levi Lounge with B Scott. During my interview, I ended up being asked to sing a little somethin' for the kids. How could I say no? So after my brief homage to Whitney I went backstage to chat it up with some of my favs in the community: Alec Mapa, Miss Calpernia, Darryl Stephens (Noah's Ark), as well as the fab Wilson Cruz (also from Noah's Ark and the Broadway Company of RENT). It is always great bumping into all of them. ESPECIALLY when it is at an event for organizations that do such great work in the community. While I hung out backstage watching Alec put the finishing touches on his hilarious costume (he spent most of the evening dressed as Andy Warhol)! Alec & I along with Darryl, Wilson, and Calpernia ended up having this really great conversation about why it is so important for us to continue to support these organizations and more importantly why we were so moved to show up to this event, in particular. Much to his makeup artists' chagrin, Alec turns around in his chair and says, "Because, We're the only ones who will do it.....if we don't, nobody else will...and we have got to take care of our own"....Calpernia chimes in, "It's so important for young people to see a face they can relate to so they don't feel alone." As I nod my head in agreement, Wilson talks about how important is is to let young people know that they have a future, and that "we are in their corner...I wish that there was something like this when I was growing up." Awww....the whole conversation just made me want to give each of them a big hug and tell them how much I loved them....so I did just that. Shortly after our backstage shenanigans/heart-2-heart, Justin and I headed to the audience to watch the show. To save time, let me say that Blake Lewis was the highlight of the evening, the kids LOVED him. Singer, Jo-Jo was great. She sang an acoustic version of Jill Scott's "Golden", which was actually quite lovely. I gotta admit the notion of a little skinny white girl sangin' Jill Scott made me nervous at first, but she more than pulled it off. Other performances I enjoyed were by Tigarah, who just signed to Universal Japan & Sharlotte Gibson, who does alot of backing vocals for Whitney and Toni Braxton, Both very talented singers. Aside from great company, great music and great performances, my favorite thing about the entire evening was that it was ALL ABOUT THE KIDS! I left feeling really hopeful for their futures; really prayerful that these organizations will be able to continue the great work that they do; and really thankful that somehow, by just sharing our time and our gifts that night, we left HUNDREDS of young people with the feeling that it is ok to be them...and that, dear hearts, is what it's all about....til next time, lovies! If you don't know who Kim Zolciak is then you must be dead! The crowd that lined up around the corner of Honey Pot in Ybor know who she is & they love her. We are talking major paparazzi crush! Ever since Kim has entered our lives via the Bravo hit show "The Real Housewives Of Atlanta" she has kept the world glued to her every move, even though some of those moves may have been questionable! Now with her single "Tardy For The Party" burning up i-tunes some people are starting to take a second look at this reality TV Super-Star. Is she going to release an album? Will all the housewives return next season? How does she really feel about Andy Cohen from the Reunion Show, pictured here with Kim & Kandi Burrus . Here is a hint...Kim & Boy both feel the same way about Andy. From our evening together I can tell you this much, she is a whole lot more smarter then people think & she is one of the sweetest people I have ever interviewed! Watch and Enjoy!

There has been lots of TV "talking heads" throwing in their 2 cents about the Health Care Bill. But I am still very confused as to what it means for the average American.....So I asked Ruben to break it down for everyone in way that even Boy About Town can understand it!

House passes Affordable Health Care for America Act (H.R. 3962) by a VERY NARROW MARGIN - 220-215 VOTES!!! Our house speaker Nancy Pelosi stated this had bipartisan support even though the majority of Republicans opposed the bill (only one Republican vote by Rep. Joseph Cao of LA). Thirty-nine Democrats joined the 167 Republican NAY votes. Now, the Senate needs to pass its own health-care bill, then the two bills need to be combined in some manner and voted on again. The REAL fight is just beginning... The key goals of this bill are:slow the growth of out of control costs introduce competition into the health care marketplace in order to keep coverage affordable and insurers honest (good luck)protect your choice of doctor and health plan assure that all us Americans get access to quality, stable, affordable health care (key word "access") It restricts insurance companies from denying coverage to anyone with a pre-existing condition or charging higher premiums based on gender or medical history. It also provides federal subsidies to those of us who cannot afford health insurance and it guarantees coverage for 96% of our citizens. Key components include:Increasing choice and competition. Giving peace of mind. Improving quality care. Ensuring shared responsibility. Protecting consumers and reducing waste, fraud and abuse. Reducing the deficit and ensuring the solvency of Medicare and Medicaid. So how do you benefit? Ends discrimination for pre-existing medical conditions. No dropped coverage if you become sick. No co-pays for preventative care. Yearly caps on what you pay. No caps on what insurance companies pay. Improves focus on wellness & prevention. I get SO many invites to different fabulous events that there is no way I can go to all of them. This Wednesday is one such extravaganza...Open Artists With Open Arms! This annual event has become a must on the Hollywood party circuit. Open Artists showcases some of the hottest performers on the scene today while benefiting LIFEWORKS! For those of you that are unaware LifeWorks is country's most successful mentoring organization for LGBTQ youth! And being that this is a Gay Hollywood party there is a fierce theme...."Pop Goes The World" Think Warhol meets, Studio 54, with a explosion of gaudy pop explosion thrown in! The all star line includes Blake Lewis, JoJo, world renowned dancer/choreographer Kevin Stea, Guy B., DJ Derek Montiero, Darryl Stephens & Jensen Atwood from Noah's Arc, Wilson Cruz, and the evening will be hosted by the always over the top Alec Mapa! One very special gentleman that will be taking to the stage as well as having been a driving force behind the scenes is Kyle Puccia, the Billboard Charting singer & songwriter & F.O.B.B. (Friend Of Boys Buzz)! Kyle's passion for this event & the kids it helps is always at the forefront of any conversation one has with him! Now let's visit Boy's Buzz Box....There is a lot of online chat about Lady Gaga's new video “Bad Romance.” Well odd at times, the vid is amazing & is all about...well a Bad Romance. At the end of the 5 min dance fest Lady G sets her partner in this relationship on fire while in bed...Just think Farrah Fawcett in "The Burning Bed!" I mean what is the big deal people? Who could be offended by a music video? In the video she overcomes a bad situation while looking amazing in 12-inch Alexander McQueen pumps that would make any Drag Queen drool! Loving It! On the sports news front...what I follow sports...kinda...Basketball great Kareem Abdul-Jabbar has been living with leukemia for almost a year. The former Lakers star told “Good Morning America” that last December he was diagnosed with Philadelphia chromosome-positive chronic myeloid leukemia, a rare cancer of the blood and bone marrow. Although initially taken aback by his diagnosis, Kareem’s prognosis is positive. “If I can do this as I’m told to do it, I can manage this,” Kareem said. He said he is speaking out now to show other patients that “they can prevail. They can continue a meaningful life,”....Anyone that opens up to the world about such a personal struggle has Boy's respect! Work it out Kareem!

The Los Angeles Police Department has severed its ties to an organization linked to the Boy Scouts of America, which discriminates against Gays. The move is seen by many as a step towards making sure that LA tax payers money does not go fund a group that does not allow all LA area residents to participate. On a similar note, but not to similar...Follow this. Bernice King is Martin Luther King Jr's daughter. In 2004, Bernice King helped lead a march against same-sex marriage in Atlanta. Last week The Southern Christian Leadership Conference announced the election of The Rev. Bernice King as its eighth president. Interim President Byron Clay called King & said she accepted the position. Ya see where I am going with this? I am sure her father would be sad to know that none of that "crazy" that talk of freedom & equality for all did not sink in to Bernice's head!

Boy's Buzz Box.....Britney Spears has gone down under...wait for it....Brit~Brit's first concert tour in Australia was met with poor reviews & stories of fans walking out of her show. On top of that, government officials have been critical of the singer for her use of lip-syncing during performances. All the criticism has traumatized Spears, which let us keep in mind is a very easy thing to do. "It is Britney's 'prerogative' to lip-sync, and it is my job to make sure consumers know what they are paying for up front," said Virginia Judge, Minister for Fair Trading for the Australian state New South Wales, in a statement released by the government. What?! If you go to see a full on show like that of Madonna, Christina Aguilera & yes Britney you will see some lip-syncing. Hello, there is she is dancing non-stop, flying through the air & hanging up side down and people want to her her sing live?! It's a little pop concert, part Broadway show with a little dance troupe show thrown in. If you want to see Britney & hear her at the same time put in her CD & look at a photo.

Battle Lines Are Drawn Within The GOP & Sandy Goes To Court

It has been longer then usually since I last posted so I wanna hit on something that has been bothering Boy About Town for a while now...The Grand Old Party. Yup the GOP is no longer a grand thing & the party seems to be over. Being Republican has become such a bad thing & where that came from is fairly clear to me. There are seem at least 2 different groups within "The GOP" that are at odds with each other. One of those is the financially conservative & socially liberal group. I was talking with a friend the other day on the phone, let me say that my friend is a Black Woman, so when she busted out with "I'm a registered Republican" I was blown away. HELLO?!? When I think GOP I don't think Black Women. At the same time I don't think the party of George W. Bush is welcoming to Gays yet there is a group, the Log Cabin Republicans, that are just that...Gay Republicans! This is the same group that gave a large donation to the Bob Dole presidential campaign only to have it returned! Why would you be part of a party that wants nothing to do with you & is working en masse to deny you basic American rights?! Then there is the other group...best described as "Right Wing Nuts"! These are the people that push a conservative view & if you disagree with them or at all different...well screw you! This group is based in the church's in the heartland & Karl Rove's blackberry. This what the Republican party seems to have become. Highjacked. That is one word I have heard used to explain how some people feel about the direction the Party is going in. A great example of this "...war between two Republicans clans..." (Joe Scarborough MSNBC host) is the tension between Florida's Governor Charelie Crist & ex Governor (and brother of George W. Bush) Jeb Bush. While Bush considered a staunch conservative warrior while Crist falls into the "financially conservative & socially liberal group" we were talking about earlier. While both of these power players have their eye on the White House their ongoing spat over what the heart & soul of the GOP is truly made of echos that of the party it's self. Sandra Bullock (Sandy) & her husband Jesse James are facing a fierce & not so fabulous custody battle with James' ex-wife Janine Lindemulder. Although Bullock has been helping her husband raise his 5-year-old daughter Sunny while Lindemulder was in prison for tax evasion, the mother is fighting to get her daughter back, claiming Bullock is her biggest obstacle. "What would give her the right to take away my daughter? You know, this is my daughter. I am the best mother I can be." Lindemulder, ex-porn star (why is it everyone in a porn movie is called a "porn star"?)prove that she could provide a safe environment for their child that included keeping her away from pornographers, drug addicts, guns and firearms, felons & other unsafe environments. Bullock and James have called Lindemulder and her new husband, also a convicted felon, unfit. Wow...all of the sudden Jon & Kate seem like FABULOUS parents, huh?!

Boy's Buzz Box.....Sir Elton John has been forced to call off a string of tour dates after coming down with the E. Coli Bug. An announcement on his official website says he is suffering from a “serious case of E.coli bacterial infection & influenza,” and is currently being treated at London’s private King Edward VII hospital. How cute the Queen is at the King's hospital. Anyway, after postponing many tour dates around Britain, he’s now cancelled concerts with Billy Joel in the U.S. on doctor’s orders. His husband, David Furnish, says he’s “doing fine"...which in celeb speak means he is very ill! I'm just saying!

Tweakers Report....In a new bombshell book, tennis star Andre Agassi reveals that he once had a relationship with a bitch of a lover~crystal meth. Andre says that in the early 90s, he used the drug often: “I can’t speak to addiction, but a lot of people would say that if you’re using anything as an escape, you have a problem,” he says. Chris Cornell – “Scream” LP. March 10, 2009

Former Soundgarden Front man Chris Cornell Releases a solo album teaming up with none other than Timabaland for “Scream”. To the dismay of many angst ridden hardcore grunge fans of the early 90’s Cornell completely changes direction from his material with Soundgarden, opting to chart new territory into Pop, Electronic and Hip Hop textures as only a master like Timbaland can deliver. That being said, Chris’ vocal arrangements and alternative roots still surface in the bulk of the work. In an interview conducted on myspace, Timbaland professes that he feels he is less of a producer on this project & more of a composer for the pure creative process. The album itself is nonstop piece of music, each track a separate entity but threaded through much like a Symphony or a Hip Hop DJ mixtape. The tracks “Part of Me” as well as “Scream” are simply stunning, and Timbaland out does himself like I've never heard before. There is so much going this year for Halloween that we want to give you a run down of the party's that you MUST hit! And because Boy's Buzz is EVERYWHERE we are going to give ya'll coast to coast coverage! During this past year of economic turmoil & uncertainty everyone could use a day of cutting lose to party! Let's get started~The East Coast Report~
~New York City~As the New York City Village Halloween Parade celebrates its 36th organizers have chosen the theme "Terra Incognita." This year's parade will capture the dread and excitement of sailing into the darkness of unknown waters (wonder where they got that idea?) Village Halloween Parade is the largest celebration of its kind in the world & has been picked by Festivals International as "The Best Event in the World" for October 31. The Parade draws more than 50,000 costumed participants and approximately 2 million spectators each year! When Boy About Town lived in NYC the parade passed my apt & every year I would stand on my fire escape & watch in amazement as people danced, sang & celebrated life. If you are an adult anywhere in the New York area you should go. If you have never been make it a point to go! The other NYC Halloween Events are fun (and better for kids) but this is THE party! ~Atlanta~This city which recently captured Boy's heart (Yes, I have a heart!) has the unique position of hosting it's annual Gay Pride on Halloween weekend! OMG, the parties are going to be outta control! Boy's new friend & grand dame of Atlanta, Bubba D Licious, was telling me that from the official Atlanta Pride kick-off party at the Georgia Aquarium (which was Wednesday) all the way to the closing party on Sunday night the weekend is expected to rival that of other "party boy hot spots like Miami or Palm Springs...." With that in mind it would be hard to pick one event in Atlanta to attend...In short hit all of them!
~Tampa Bay Area~In such a large & diverse area Boy's pick is actually 2 different events! Both of which are on Saturday! The first one is aimed at more of the family crowd. Tamara, who is a F.O.B.B. (friend of Boy's Buzz) told me about on one of Florida's best known "Halloween Haunted Houses" which is located very close to her own home! At this local landmark (900 63rd Street South, St Petersburg, from 5pm-10pm) a group on woman open their home each year as a haunted house to the area kids. This tradition has grown to attract a crowd of over 1000 each year, and that is just one night of haunting! All these ladies ask in return from the people they scare is a donation to aid Christ The Cornerstone Church with their work in the Dominican Republic. The church works with kids and is always looking for canned goods, blankets, school supplies, toiletries! Boy went to visit these amazing people...Check out our fab chat~

Now the next Tampa Area event is more adult themed....Not in a dirty way! Guavaween is Ybor's answer to Carnival in Rio! This year they pulled in the big...um...guns, shall we say? The hostess for Guavaween 2009 is none other than F.O.B.B. The Diva Of Darkness Herself... Ivonna Cadaver! Ivonna is the raven-haired temptress who haunts, teases, and tantalizes viewers each week on nationally-syndicated "Macabre Theatre"! Both Boy & Ivonna are in the Tampa area for Guavaween & will be making appearances throughout the day! After leading the night time parade Mistress Cadaver with perform at Honey Pot with a cast of Zombies as back-up dancers! Not to be missed! Since the Halloween street party in the Castro in San Fransisco has totally fallen apart & never been put back together the Cali party that is all a "MUST" is of course WeHo's (West Hollywood's) Halloween Carnaval! Starting at 6pm at the north east corner of Santa Monica Blvd & Doheny, the Carnaval March will feature a number of the artists selected to perform at the event, expected to attract in excess of 400,000 people. Staged to celebrate the diversity and creativity of West Hollywood, Halloween Carnaval 2009 will take on an art direction and program curation reflecting the wide variety of entertainment on show across three main stages and multiple other music PODS through out the mile long stretch on Santa Monica Boulevard from Doheny to La Cienega!

One Step Forward, One Step Backwards, Rosie Confirms Trouble With Kelli & Madonna Strikes A Pose In Malawi!

The National Black Justice Coalition has issued a statement in which it applauds the Senate’s 68-29 passage of a landmark hate crimes bill that would make it a federal crime to assault an individual because of his or her sexual orientation or gender identity. This legislation now goes to President Obama, who has pledged to sign it into law. The Matthew Shepard & James Byrd, Jr. Hate Crimes Prevention Act gives the Justice Department the power to investigate and prosecute bias-motivated violence where the perpetrator has selected the victim because of the person's actual or perceived race, color, religion, national origin, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity or disability. It expands the definition of federal hate crimes while streamlining the process of federal prosecution of bias-based crimes. The fact a the NBJC is a Black group is one that is not lost on people. At times there has been tension between the Black community & GLBTQ community. While this is a huge step forward there have been setbacks of late in CIVIL Rights across America. Just recently Keith Bardwell, a white justice of the peace in Tangipahoa Parish in Louisiana, refused to issue a marriage license earlier this month to Beth Humphrey, who is White, and Terence McKay, who is Black. Mr Keith Bardwell stated he has done this before & will do it again! Well at least he is consistent. Then there is the tragic case of Craig Cohen, a Gay man that was beaten to death in Ft Lauderdale, Florida. Although the group of men that attacked & killed Craig also beat another Gay man that same night, in the same Gay ghetto, Broward County officials are refusing to call it a hate crime. To refuse to see the parallels in both cases is just irresponsible! Yes we are moving things forward but let's not forget that there are still many Beth Humphrey's, Terence McKay's & Craig Cohen. It is time to move forward as one....

Boy's Buzz Box.....Rosie is hinting at a split with Kelli! Rosie O'Donnell took the bull by the horns & made a statement on the rumored pending break up with wife Kelli Carpenter "We're a family. We will remain a family forever. And we are working on our issues." Well that cleared things up, kinda. Ro went on to say "Those are the only words I am ever going to say. Ever. And that is something that has been agreed upon by all parties. But everything's fine and everybody's good and we're still both raising them together. We will both continue to parent them and we're friendly and everything's all right." Alright, huh?! USA Today noted the tears that welled up in Rosie's eyes as she spoke. Boy About Town know it is hard to balance a private relationship with a public persona & I wish them as well as their kids all the best. Since we are chatting about "Ro" lets move on to "Mo", as Rosie calls her BFF Madonna! Madge returned the African nation of Malawi on Sunday with her four children. She adopted two of her kiddies~Mercy and David~ from Malawi & had promised to return to help the poor, often forgotten country. Her promise is being fulfilled by opening a girls' school at a cost of $15 million. Planting a Moringa tree at the schools opening, with her oldest daughter Lourdes' help, Madonna said, "If this school is a success - with God willing it will be - we will replicate it not only in Malawi, but in other parts of the world as well." So basically Madonna plans to continue her 25 year campaign of world domination! Go Madge!

Boy's Buzz Box....In the wake of former Miss California Carrie Prejean's suit against K2 Productions, pageant coordinator Keith Lewis, his former co-director Shanna Moakler & pageant publicist Roger Neal, the Miss California pageant has filed a countersuit. Prejean's suit concerns “public disclosure of private facts,” which, according to E! Online, refers exclusively to her breast augmentation surgery. "The alleged 'private facts' consist of her breast augmentation (which ceased being private during the swimsuit competition of the nationally televised Miss USA pageant, in which Ms. Prejean walked the stage in a bikini as seen in the photo here....FAKE)," says the countersuit. What that means is her boobs are public domanian. In turn, Miss California officials have filed a countersuit against Prejean to demand that she return the $5,200 they paid for her boob job. The claim is the latest in the epic battle between Prejean and K2 productions, the directors of the Miss California USA pageant! Boy About Town's favorite quote to come outta this is straight from the lawsuit it's self....."Had [Prejean] heeded the guidance of the Gospel of John, who admonished only those who are without sin to cast stones in judgment, she might have avoided this legal battle." Damn that was harsh....but funny! Justin Reed Early, who most of you know is a F.O.B.B. (Friend Of Boy's Buzz) has caught many people's attention with his amazing book "Streetchild" in which he chronicled his own journey as a homeless teenager on the streets of Seattle, San Francisco & NYC. In recent years Justin has become a advocate for teens living through the hell he himself experienced & now he is working on a TV show where he & a team of people will mentor these kids on a case by case bases. Is America ready to see what has become of it's forgotten children? Time will tell!

Yesterday I posted that "cute little piece" about Serena Williams hawking tampons. Well now Vanilla Ice has resurrects his old image & clothes (God help us) to make some much needed cash selling South African beer, while simultaneously reminding us how old we are. It's no secret that Britney Spears has had a rough time of things in the past, but lately Brit~Brit has been looking super fabulous. Jason Trawick, her agent as well as boyfriend, brought the heat to Mexico this past weekend along with her 2 children. Love her or hate her you have to hand it to Britney, she has fought her way back to the top of the pop world! Speaking of top of the world...F.O.B.B. (Friend Of Boys Buzz) Kyle Puccia has been hard at work on "Open Artists With Open Arms". This yearly fundraiser for LA area HIV/AIDS services takes on new meaning this year because fewer people are able to give the money that is so desperately needed. So Kyle, along with genetically blessed Guy B., have been putting the finishing touches on this extravaganza! And since Kyle & Boy About Town are such great texting buddies Boy has a bit of news that has not been released yet....Blake Lewis & JoJo "are pretty much confirmed" for the November show! But there is more news from "Camp Puccia"~Kyle will (finally) be premiering his 2nd dance single at the Open Artists benefit! It's a cover of John Waite's "Missing You"! His other dance single "Fruitloop Daydream" is one of Boy's favorite songs on his ipod! Dear Real Estate With Ruben, I am having an issue with mold and mildew in my apartment for many months & have contacted my landlord. He still has not fixed the problem stating he is too busy. What can I do? Can I withhold rent until it's fixed or get it fixed and deduct from rent? Roberta in Florida
Dear Roberta,
The first thing you must do is check your rental agreement for a MOLD and MILDEW clause. Since you are in Florida you have climate conducive to the growth of mold and mildew & it's necessary to provide adequate ventilation and de-humidification. The clause usually states the tenant agrees to properly ventilate and dehumidify the unit and that the landlord will not be responsible for damages to the premises or tenant's personal property due to mold and mildew. Now, indoor air quality complaints for apartments and hotels are regulated as public lodging establishments by the Florida Department of Business & Professional Regulation's Divisions of Hotels and Restaurants. I would strongly advise you to first file a complaint with the DBPR by calling 850-487-1395 or online or by e-mail. As far as your landlord's responsibilities, he is to comply with all applicable building, housing and health codes, so a complaint filed with the DBPR will start the ball rolling. The Florida real estate law concerning withholding rent is as follows: Providing that the lease or rental agreement is silent on the procedure of repairs & maintenance and that the responsibility is solely your landlord's you first must give written notice giving a minimum of 20 business days to complete. I STRONGLY suggest this notice be sent certified mail with return receipt! If no action is taken, my advice would be to again give written notice by certified mail and return receipt advising the landlord that the rent is being placed with the registry of the court. This will offset eviction if your landlord chooses to evict you for non payment of rent. Also look for the websites that cover... "Indoor Mold and Health Tenants Rights" & "Laws and Protections" Good Luck and please contact me with any other questions or concerns. Ruben

Sometimes people send me "news" pieces that make me wonder "What Were They Thinking"...These next few quotes fall under that category. They were all uttered by country singer Miranda Lambert. And it's hard to believe that these hilarious & at times odd words came from the darling little country girl next door! Miranda seems to have jumped on the Fox bandwagon & is now proclaiming “I do have a crush on Megan Fox”...Well I am sure that went over well with Ma & Pa back in Nashville! Not to worry Ms. Lambert is still a true red blooded American as her next diddy proves~“I think you have a pistol, a shotgun and a rifle because that covers the spectrum of what you're going to need to hunt. I'm a gun-toter and I believe in guns -- not for violent reasons” So to recap, Miranda Lambert is a part time Lesbian that loves non-violent guns....WHAT?!

Staying on the whole "What Were They Thinking" train of thought...Serena Williams Plugs Tampons! No really, it's not what you think. Serena just won her second round match at the China Open to regain her #1 overall ranking but then lost to Nadia Petrova to get knocked out of the Open. So what does one do after all that? A commercial, of course! The advertising world is beginning to realize that by adding a little levity and some well-placed celebrities they can sell tampons. With that in mind Serena Williams goes toe-to-toe with "Mother Nature" in a smack down that is all intent on getting you to pony up a few dollars to buy Serena's favorite "lady thing"! I have no idea where to go with this so I will move right along....

Today We Cry, Tomorrow We Act....
On April 6, 2009 four or five men attacked Craig Cohen as he walked home from the Peter Pan Dinerin Ft Lauderdale. They knocked him to the ground, took turns kicking and stomping on his head with there boots crushing his skull which sent Craig into a coma. Last Thursday I posted the news that Craig had died from the injuries he substained during that attack. After 6 months, 5 brain surgeries and lots of tears Craig left behind the hate in this world that took his life. I was shocked by the number of our readers that had heard nothing about this case, many of those people were in Ft Lauderdale. The story has many layers to it. Craig & another Gay man were both attacked within blocks of each other in the "Gay Capital Of America". Both were attacked on the same evening. Both man were openly Gay. The authorities are not calling this a hate crime, they have classified it a robbery. Excuse me?! The Assistant States Attorney handling the case is Sherri Kate. Boy About Town spoke with her earlier today. She said she will be asking the Grand Jury to charge the two men, Victor Gonzalez, Pargu Leandro, with 1st degree murder. A third man, a juvenile, has been arrested in connection with the case & his charges are already 1st degree murder. The whole process will take years! Today we will honor Craig. Gay American Hero's along with The Sisters Of Perpetual Indulgence have organized a candle light vigil that will be held tonight in Wilton Manors at 7pm at Georgie's Alibi. This is a chance for the community to grieve, console one another as well as plan our next step. For those of you that can not make it to Ft Lauderdale the Orlando area will also be home to a vigil~Lake Eola Pagoda, 8pm. "Craig has worked for the School Board for 26 years and was the most giving, gentle person you could ever know. He put in a tremendous amount of hours volunteering throughout the community for food banks, animal welfare and homeless shelters"....Scott Hall.

'American Idol''s resident eyeliner-wearing showman Adam Lambert is back with his first song since nabbing runner-up honors on the show last season. Not surprising to anyone his new song, entitled 'Time for Miracles,' is extremely theatrical which makes sense, seeing as it's the theme song for disaster-movie auteur Roland Emmerich's latest end-of-the-world extravaganza '2012.' Speaking of life after "American Idol" , we all know Frenchie Davis is a F.O.B.B. (Friend Of Boys Buzz) and I love her but this photo may be the Gayest picture I have seen. Frenchie was recently snapped along side openly Bi-Sexual Ruthie Alcaide star The Real World:Hawaii & Transgender superstar Calpernia Addams who tired finding love on her own reality show on Logo. It looks like cable TV threw up all over this photo!

With one surprise vote from a Republican, Pres. Obama got a boost in his fight to get health insurance for more Americans. Maine Sen. Olympia Snowe became the first GOP lawmaker to support one of the Democratic health care plans in a Senate Finance Committee vote of 14-9. 13 Democrats backed the plan and Snowe was the crucial 14th vote to get the so-called Baucus plan approved. The plan’s price tag of $829 billion over 10 years is less than the $900 billion target set by Pres. Obama. It requires that all Americans have health insurance. Plus, insurance companies can’t deny claims due to a preexisting condition. Mark Boy About Town's words, that term"preexisting" is going to be a major sticking point in the years to come! It’s also the only bill without the government-funded public option. Instead the plan calls for a non-federal health care co-op. So the battle will continue but the fact that ONE Republican just voted for something as "dangerous" as health care shows that the issue will not go away anytime soon. Go girl!

I am a snob! There I said it! I love my Chanel sunglasses. I adore my "Big Red Bag!" And at times I lay my designer clothes out on my bed & stare at them. (I have moments in my life that are not so shallow but that's not what we are talking about here.) The other day I went to The Flamingo, the new "Gay Resort" in St Petersburg, Florida. Now you regular readers know I have partied in some of the most fierce places around. From London to LA. From Montreal and New York all the way down to South Beach. With that in mind I went to this new Gay gathering spot in St Petersburg, an area not really known for being a hot bed of fabulous-fun, with some reservations. Well this snob was blown away by what I saw. From the moment Boy & his posse stepped into the lounge where the friendly staff has managed to find a perfect blend of South Beach style, Palm Springs vibe & old Florida charm, we were hooked! We spent some time with Bobby York (watch for our on camera chat on a future posting) in the Blue Room. Anytime they start naming rooms after a color I get impressed! We moved on to the outdoor cafe & then the cabana bar by the pool. We ended up spending most of the evening in the main lounge watching the drag show along side a great, fun mix of people! Young & old. Gay & straight. Fabulous & frumpy. The rooms are still a work in progress as is the retail space but you see where Resort Director, David Baker, is going with it and I am happy to go along for the ride!

I would like to think that our blog is the type of website people go for thoughtful commentary on current events. News with an attitude. We share our thoughts in order to cause both thought & discussion...With that said, this next segment is just plain, sassy fun! "In Bed With Boy" is my excuse to crawl in bed with some of the most interesting people! Today's video pick is no different. Misty Eyez & Myself were in Atlanta recently & bumped in Brendan Velasquez. For those of you that have been living under a rock & don't know who that is I will explain. Brendan is the fresh face, sexy "boy" that is already drawing comparisons to Justin Timberlake. With his first single "Anxious" off his debut album "Living Out Loud" burning up the charts, it has been in the Top 10 on Logo's countdown for weeks now (although I can not for the life of me figure their website out so if you wanna vote for his vid go to Logo's site & hunt and peck)! Brendan tells us all about his 5 year plan for world domination, his next video "Diggin' On You" and who, if anyone he is diggin' on. Off camera we chatted with Mr. Velasquez about the TV pilot he is about to begin filming! Shut-up! I am not going to say too much...who am I kidding, of course I am! Brendan plays a young hunky singer that is one third of a popular boy band. The catch being that Brendan's character is struggling with being Gay in a world that demands he be straight! These two worlds are what Brendan will try to balance. Think of it as "The Gay Hannah Montana" The show has some big names on board! Tiffany of '80's fame will play Brendan's Mother, Frenchie Davis will play a key role in his support system (and yes this part will allow her to sing) and then the evil online gossip queen hell bent on exposing Brendan's double life will be played by...wait for it..ME!!! Yes, Boy About Town will try his hand at acting in this upcoming project. Hell, if Gwyneth Paltrow does it then acting can't be that difficult...Enough said. Watch the interview & enjoy. Boy About Town has got to take a moment to say thank you to everyone in Key West that made our SHORT day so amazing. We got to hang with Holly, Lauren & Veronica from LA as well as meeting so many new people! I was thrilled when people all around the island came up to me to say they read & liked the blog! Thank you to Stephen & everyone in Key West for showing us how fabulous your world is! We will be posting the whole trip as part of our upcoming "About Town Travel Blog"....

Now on a tragic note....Six months ago Craig Cohen (seen left before the attack) was leaving Peter Pan Diner Wilton Manors, Florida when he was attacked by two men. The men stomped on his head repeatedly & left him on the sidewalk before running away with his cell phone. Wilton Manors has the largest Gay population per capita in the U.S. so when investigators initially suspected the attacks were fueled by hate and committed because the victim was gay, well the community as a whole was shocked! Yesterday Craig Cohen (pictured below after the attack) died from his injuries never having never regained consciousness. So now Victor Gonzalez & Pargu Leandro, who were arrested for the attack & have been held without bond since, are facing murder charges! To deal with the outrage that is being felt though out the South Florida area The Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence have helped organize at candlelight vigil at Georgie's Alibi in Wilton Manors on Thursday the 15th at 7 pm. Please come show your support for Craig's friends & family as well as send a clear message that this will not be allowed in our world! We will keep you posted on this story!

There are reports coming from Atlanta that A.J. Jewell, the fiance of Real Housewives Of Atlanta star, Kandi Burruss has been killed! Some reports say that he was shot in the head, others say he was stabbed & yet others say he was beaten to death. The sad truth is AJ passed away at 11:43 pm after a night of clubbing. Whatever the details maybe (I am sure they will be on the cover of every tabloid in the coming weeks!) this much is clear Kandi & AJ's 6 kids are in deep need of our thoughts & prayers!

Boy's Buzz Box...Lauren Conrad will not go away! It seems Ms. Conrad is getting ready to RE-Launch her collection Thursday. If you recall Lauren put her fashion line on hold a few months ago in order to "restructure!" What gave her the idea that we were ready for her to return is beyond me, but she is is back....at Kohl’s...well at least that makes sense! Shar Jackson & Yvette Wilson (both on Celebrity Fit Club) were spotted having a "sword fight" at the Pirate’s Booty booth at the Kari Feinstein Style Lounge. When I first read this "Press Release" I had a totally different image in my head! Listen, do not send Boy About Town an email saying "Sword Fight" if you don't mean it! Train wreck in the making Megan Fox & the cast of Saturday Night Live partied at Pranna Restaurant/ Bar/Lounge near Manhattan’s Madison Park for the popular broadcast’s Season Premier after party. Miss Fox was ever so kind enough to invite on-again off-again Boyfriend Brian Austin Green (that poor bastard) as well as Kirsten Dunst & actor Simon Pegg. Well nothing screams "Betty Ford Rehab" like that group! Keep partying kiddies!

I want to bring special attention to our next guest on "Gabfest With Boy & Misty"...This former American Idol contestant & current Diva has managed to make her mark in every medium out there! Her first movie "We Are Family" just wrapped. Her new single "You Are" with famed DJ/Remixer Tony Moran is burning up the charts (how is this her FIRST dance single?!) And she is in talks with up-and-coming dance-pop crooner Brendan Velasquez to work on his upcoming TV Show on Logo! Khloe, who is Boy's fav outta all the train wreck sisters, married LA Lakers basketball player Lamar Odom this weekend, after the couple had only been seeing each other for a month. Given her rocky past with men was this the best idea? Who can say, time will tell. But I do have to say after you become at "Reality TV Star" & host a radio show where you talk about EVERY detail of your life you simply can not ask the press, bloggers included to leave you alone on your wedding day! Once upon a time there was a magic place "Club Land"....Everyone was was super nice, the music was fun & up lifting & all the boys & girls danced together till dawn! Then came a dark period where the people were not as nice, the music was darker & most of the boys & girls had OD'ed by dawn. Atlanta Flood!

This is going to be a one point blog. Last week Boy About Town & his team spent 5 days in Atlanta filming & blogging. While there I fell in love with everything about the city...even the traffic! So the news coming out of Hot~Lanta is most distressing! Prolonged rain have brought Atlanta & the surrounding to a shreaking halt. The sewage system is leaking, schools have closed, people are missing....chaos! There are reports that with communications systems down people have taken to Twitter & Facebook to get in touch with loved ones! Wendy Siegel said she received a surprising note from her 14-year-old who logged on to Facebook to let her know water was leaking into his Cobb County public school and flooding the parking lot. “They did end up coming home safely,” said Siegel. “I was glad when he got home” !

From the staff at The W Midtown, to the ever funny Bubba D. Licious, Brian, Chip & Matt from gaydar Magazine, our driver Fred, the staff at Einstein's, the fun people we met at Piedmont Park, everyone we met was the picture of southern charm & grace and the thought of them living through such conditions is heartbreaking. Today Is A Double Video Day!

I have got to say something about last nights Emmy's! First off, Neil Patrick Harris looked wonderful in his white dinner jacket! And I know everyone saw the ring Neil wears on his right hand, he kept throwing it at every camera he could find! And when Neil was with his man, David Burtka, throughout the evening but did it without going over the top on "the whole gay thing...." He dance, he sang, he made jokes (although they were written for him)...Neil was a one man cabaret act!

Yes, the evening was a smashing success for Mr. Harris but it was Kristin Chenoweth who stole my heart when she won BEST SUPPORTING COMEDY ACTRESS for her role in "Pushing Daises", which has since been taken off the air! Her genuine joy made me sit up & clap as she took to the stage in a mixture of laughter & tears...with a little of the pee-pee dance thrown in for good measure (please note picture on the left)! After thanking everyone Kristin then took the opportunity to ask for a new gig! “I’m unemployed now, so I’d like to be on Mad Men. I also like ‘The Office’ and ‘24".....Loving her!

I have received lots of emails about both Angela Madsen & Nina Flowers. On the surface these 2 public figures appear to have nothing in common. Angela became the first Paraplegic to row across the Atlantic Ocean last year & then this year joined an 8 person crew in effort to break records attempting to row across the Indian Ocean. When not rowing her way around the globe she runs a rowing program aimed at kids with special needs! Fabulous but not glamours! Nina Flowers came to worlds attention as a one of the "Drag Queens" on RuPaul's Drag Race. Nina finished second on the show but in a classic case of making the most of the spotlight Ms. Flowers has become the Queen of the Queens! Fabulous but not an easy fete! We chat with these two different people (in 2 separate interviews), both of whom are working hard to add alittle to this world! They are both AMAZING people. They are both on today's Boy's Buzz. I am honored to call both of these people my friends. To be honest, they are not so different after all! Enjoy!

Movie mogul Jodie Foster was dumped by her new girlfriend. Jodie herself had ditched Cydney Bernard (with whom she has 2 children) her lover of almost 15 years in order to pursue Cindy Mort. Are you following? Now this is where it gets sticky/sad. Cindy just dumped Jodie in order to go back with her ex Amanda Demme! So after this karma kick in the ass Ms Foster has been trying to reignite the love with Cydney, the same woman she threw out of the way to chase Cindy...Oh My.....This next piece is one that truly excites Boy About Town~Cher & Christina Aguilera are both set to star in the new film "Burlesque" This film has already generated lots of buzz! "Cher brings a soulfulness and gravitas to this character that will ground the story," said Clint Culpepper of Screen Gems, the firm which is backing the film. "The only person who was more excited than I am is Christina." Well Boy thinks there is someone else that has a good reason to be excited~Frenchie Davis! You see there is a part in this film that just screams FRENCHIE! What is that part you ask? Well it's a Drag Queen of course! Yes, Ms. Davis has begun a not so silent campaign (Frenchie doesn't do any thing silently) to get the part of the sassy cross dresser! Frenchie herself told Boy About Town that she is "a Drag Queen trapped in a woman's body!" With Cher, Christina & Frenchie sharing the screen not only would the film be a huge hit the soundtrack would be insane! Go Team Frenchie! Before we move onto other columns Boy hears a certain Latin crooner is going to be releasing a dance album in which he leaves little question to which "team he plays for"....Stay Tuned! ~Dear Misty~
Not to long ago I began dating a wonderful man. After a period of time my three children, myself & this man rented a house together. We rented this house from his boss at work so there was no rental agreement. About 3 or 4 weeks after we all moved in together my man just up & left! He moved out & wanted nothing to do with me! When I did here from him it was tell me that he wanted the house. He thought since it was his employer that owned the home, that I should be the one to leave? Now he has started to make nice again! He wants to "be friends"?! Should I be friends? Or even nice to him? Do I have to leave the house that my kids & I love?

GIRL! Are you freaking kidding me? You are obviously under a spell of some kind. A zebra cannot change his stripes & neither can your ex. He left you high and dry once & yes my dear he will do it again. He either wants the house for himself or he just doesn't want you to have it. No matter his intentions it is obvious to me he does not want you! I cannot believe you are even asking me what to do. However here is my advice, it doesn't matter who your landlord is if you are happy in your home, if you want to live there then you stay there. But I do not see any reason to continue talking to our ex let alone date him. He thinks that he can use his penis power to get you to move out & then guess what your single again and homeless. Now, I do not know your legal rights (only common sense) so I will turn this over to Boys Buzz's Realtor Ruben so he can address your legal rights......Dear Sarah~The first thing that comes to my mind is did Mr. Move Out leave ANY of his personal possessions in the house? If so, IMMEDIATELY give them back. Although he has physically moved out, he may bring up the fact in a court of law that this was a temporary situation and he did not "actually" move. Legally both you and him rented the unit on a month to month basis, according to Florida Real Estate Law termination of a month-to-month lease, must be made at least 15 days prior to the end of the month. Now this is a tricky situation because termination, I take it, has not occurred. NOW what I strongly suggest that you get a new lease/agreement with your landlord and provide proof of his departure. Be sure that you have ALL rent receipts in your name from the time he left!!! If you can provide an address of his new residence that would be VERY helpful as well. I would also "return to sender, no longer at this address" all mail of his going to your address being that US mail is another way of proving residence. Good luck and please contact us with any other concerns....

Pearl Day 2009 in Atlanta!
Well Pearl Day 2009 is quickly coming to an end! It was great to see old friends like Frenchie Davis, Nina Flowers & DJ Power Infiniti. We also made tons of new friends like Raymon & Brendan Velasquez, Chris Cox & of course my new BFF~Kelly Rowland! On Friday we hit the park & the whole Boy's Buzz crew took turns riding the roller coasters at Six Flags Over Georgia (we even got Tamara to ride one)! The staff was fierce, special thanks to Brad for being our "go-to" man! After doing our thing on the rides we went backstage to get ready for the line up of entertainers! Boy & Misty got to chat up everyone of the stars as they left the stage...Yes we will be posting that soon! The show was one FABULOUS number after another! Kelly Rowland did not sing Boy's fav song "Work~Put It In" to the crowd but when she came straight to us after her show & sang it just for me....OMG!

There was of course an after party but truth be told the highlight of the evening took place back at The W Hotel when Boy invited some people to our room. What happened next was one of the best moments of my life....The room filled with some of the most outstanding people I have ever split a bottle of wine with (Okay maybe we spilt more then 1 bottle)! Frenchie Davis, Nina Flowers & her man, Brendan along with his manger, William from Gaydar Magazine, Misty Eyez along with Mr. Misty, Tamera (Boy's right hand gal for this trip), Kid About Town and of course Boy About Town with his Main Squeeze spend the night hanging in the most relax yet fierce manner possible)! Contacts where made (I see DJ Flowers working on Frenchie's dance remixes. Remember, Boy told you first!) and people promoted themselves! A great example of this when Brendan took a copy of his CD "Living Out Loud" & walked down to Kelly Rowland's room and then just knocked on the door! He handled the CD to Kelly's asst and walked away! To quote Nina Flowers "Work Loca"!! Frenchie sang to us (how did this become my life) & I tired on some wigs! We did take pics at the "in room party" but those will NEVER see the light of day! FABULOUS Fun!

Then yesterday Superstar DJ Chris Cox flew in & spun at Jungle. I did not make it to that but Kid About Town~Reyna was there in full force! Quick side note Reyna & Chris are now BFF's! We did catch up with Chris before for another on camera chat, again it's coming! So now the curtain comes down on Pearl Day! Misty Eyez is on her way home to get ready for Trannie Palace. Main Squeeze is crashed in the bed with the Devil Dogs & a few die hard party boys are working the runway that is the lobby of The W Midtown....Thank God the concierge Rande is on duty. That man has seen it all!

Pearl Day Kicks Off, Misty & Kelly Rowland In High Heels Show Down & Kelly Mugs Boy About Town!

~Greetings from Atlanta~
It's the morning after the kick off party for Pearl Day 2009 & the day of the actually event! First the party! Boy, Misty & the Boy's Buzz crew started to get ready for the big night alittle earlier which we thought would make us be on time for once, it did not work out that way, but hell we tired! So Misty started the process of becoming MISTY EYEZ & Boy's Atlanta make-up girl, Ms. Tina, came to The W Hotel to work her magic. Well, when we finished getting ready we took off to meet sexy crooner Brendan Velasquez. Now when you are being hailed as the "Gay Justin Timerlake" I believe all your interviews should be done in a big old bed! Misty & Myself jumped into bed with the cute 21 year old to talk about his music, what inspires him, the video he is about to make for his single "I'm Digging On You" as well as who else he has been in bed with (we had to ask)! It turned out to be a fun romp with Brendan and yes I will be posting it shortly! We grabbed Brendan & his manger (Raymon) and head to the kick off party to interview Kelly Rowland, but as luck would have it guess who was standing in the hallway RIGHT outside our door~Yup, Ms Kelly herself! Introductions were made, air kisses given & then Kelly gives Misty a once over! She was not happy with what she saw. You see Misty was towering over Kelly so what had to happen was a whole new pair of sky high heels! With Kelly off to change we set up in a corner of Whiskey Park where Bradley Wyatt & his staff took great care off us! Kelly made her grand enterance (with some fierce NEW shoes on) and we made an AMAZING on camera chat! During this chat Kelly noticed a bracelet that JackKay had given me & decided she had to have it. So, she took it! Yup, it's true! Superstar, Grammy winner, TV star on the Fashion Show Kelly Rowland jacked Boy About Town for my bracelet! I was scared! She had those HUGE shoes on & I thought Ms Kelly Rowland is about to beat me down on camera if I don't give her the goods! (PS my wallet is also missing so if anyone sees Kelly with a men's Gucci knock off wallet please call me! I am not saying it was Kelly...yes I am!)

Next we got a text that the sensation known as Nina Flowers was on her way to talk with us! Okay, when Nina Flowers texts you & says she is on her way, well you sit yourself down & wait! Now I know Nina Flowers really just a boy that has made a character called Nina & shared her with the world. I have seen his vlogs on RuPaul's Drag Race on Logo. But when DJ Flowers walked in as a cute, edgy boy, well I was blown away! What a complete change! And kids, he ain't hard on the eyes! He & his (equally hunky hubby Antonio) had just flown in and were very excited about Nina Flowers sharing the stage Kelly Rowland, Frenchie Davis & Kristine W.

Speaking of the Diva Of The Dance Floor, Kristine W. herself was holding court in the middle of her adoring fans...The Gay Guys That Dance! She was the center of a small crowd that was the center of the whole club! Fear not...we got to sit down with her & Misty Eyez and myself had a wonderful time dishing with this dance floor legend! She truly is a woman of many talents! Kristen W was kind enough to sign a copy of her latest masterpiece "The Power Of Music" & Boy's Buzz will be sending that CD to the winner of next months "Boy's Bag Give Away"!
So everyone is just getting up and ready for the big day....Pearl Day at Six Flags Over Georgia! If the kick off party was so much fun then tonight's event should be outta control!

Nicole Gives Birth & Does Even Allow Boy To Break The News & Boy's Buzz Invades Pearl Day!

Boy's Buzz From Coast To Coast! First baby news from LA! Then the speech that drove the GOP over the edge! And we wrap with party news from Atlanta!

For the pasted few weeks some other blogs have been reporting that Nicole Richie delivered her second child. But that just was not the case. Cut to the here & now~ Boy About Town is happy to confirmed that Nicole & long term boyfriend Joel Madden have added a son to their family. Ms. Richie stole some of my thunder by posting the whole story on her own blog (the nerve!) She posted this...."In the middle of night, the very early hours of September 9, 2009, Sparrow James Midnight Madden was born to Nicole Richie and Joel Madden," Richie wrote. "He weighs 7lbs 14oz. Nicole, Joel, Harlow and Sparrow are all doing well. Thank you for all of your good wishes."

Ahhhh, how sweet! Whatever! What I really wanted to say was I remember Nicole running all over Hollywood with a purse full of black tar & raising hell. So, to see her grow into a responsible mother of two is a refreshing change!

Well earlier today President Obama gave his much feared speech. The President had the nerve to talk to kids about staying in school, making the right choices & listening to the adults in their lives. The speech was given & believe or not the world did not come to an end. The talk heads of the GOP claimed that the Pres was going brainwash the youth of American! Come again?! In a time of record unemployment & a HUGE foreclosure crisis, for people to focus on the Leader Of The Free World's "stay in school speech" is beyond insane! I hope he gives a speech every year and in doing so causes the public to see how out of touch some elected officials are!

Yes, the time is here at last! It's the biggest party of the year & of course Boy's Buzz crew will be there to bring you all the behind the scene's gossip, celeb interviews & last minute changes! And before you all email me, yes our "Devil Dogs" Natalia & Tatiana, will be making the trip too! We all know that this has been the summer of Kelly Rowland. Her hit single "When Love Takes Over" has become a summer 2009 anthem & she co-host Bravo's "The Fashion Show"! Wherever you turn there is Ms Kelly and she will be at Six Flags Over Georgia for Pearl Day on Friday! As if one Diva Of The Dance Floor is not enough Kristine W will be twirling out the fabulous songs that have made her an important part of every dancing boys life! Only Madonna has more #1 hits on the dance floor charts then Kristine W. That means Mariah Carey, Whitney Houston & Britney are playing catch up Kristine W. A Reality Show About Michael Jackson Impersonators?! Emma Goes To Uni & We Get Ready For Pearl Day!

An email came through & I think it falls under the category of "They Are Making A Show About This, Really?" Michael has been in the ground for about a week now and the reality TV Competition “Fakin’ It!” announces a nationwide search for Best Michael Jackson Impersonator! Great! NYC auditions are this Wednesday. Los Angeles auditions are September 15 at the International Dance Academy (6755 Hollywood Blvd., 2nd Floor) in Hollywood. So if you think you have what it takes to be Michael Jackson, minus the addiction to Propofol, you might wanna moonwalk your way to these auditions.

Now lets us move on to a person that seems to have her act together....Emma Watson! The 'Harry Potter' star showed up to start classes at Brown the other day just like the her fellow students! Although Emma did show up in a helicopter! But the fact that this girl has the common sense to take time to go to university show she is thinking long term!

We had a fun packed weekend! First there was filming at Ybor & then on Saturday we spent the day with Angela Madsen at Gulfport's GeckoFest! Council member Michelle King came to our Meet & Greet and presented Angela with a plaque as well as making September 5th Angela Madsen Day! That was very cool! Both Boy About Town (that's me) & Misty Eyez can not wait to share this amazing woman's story with all of you! We will be posting our on camera chat with this American hero in the coming days! Ybor Filming Wraps & We Welcome Angela Madsen!

We have alot to blog about today so let's get right to it! Yesterday evening Boy About Town (that's me) Misty Eyez & Ruben headed to Ybor to wrap up our "About Town Travel Vlog" which we have been filming there for the past month or so! At first everything that could go wrong did go wrong...First our mic cord went missing, and it still is! Then, Misty's GPS was sending us to Russia. So we got that fixed & then we got to Ybor where we meet up with Mark & Carrie of MC Film Fest fame. Along with those 2, the Diva Of Darkness Ivonna Cadavor was also found to be hanging at their store. We were all set to begin filming the "history of Ybor" when the heavens opened up & it rained buckets! So there I am with the lights, the camera Misty in full drag (Ivonna had just as much make up as Misty, she's basically a Drag Queen herself!) with no way to film in the down pour that kept starting & stopping! We were able to get a few usable shots & we filmed inside of Ybor's most haunted sites! But what really saved the day was filming happy hour at Streetcar Charlie's! I knew it to be a cute little happy hour hotspot but had no clue it was a full service restaurant with a VIP backroom! Charlie himself gave us a peek at some of his signature dishs & what you see here is what we did to the plates that were once piled with fab~food!

Now lets talk Angela Madsen! For those of you that are unaware of who this amazing lady is let Boy school you! Last year Angela Madsen became the first Paraplegic to row across the Atlantic Ocean! In doing so she caught the attention of Boy About Town (again that's me) who wrote her amazing story. So this year when Angela joined an 8 person crew in an effort to break records by attempting to row across the Indian Ocean, Boy's readers were there with her! Fight Club With A Bad Twist & DJ Maximus 3000 Gives Us Our Musts!

Have you heard of this story? 6 people in Texas were charged with "intentionally or knowingly causing injury to a disabled person, an elderly person or a child". As if that was not bad enough these same people were the one's in charge of those disabled people's care. That's right, they are former employees of a Texas school for the disabled where the staff allegedly organized a fight club of developmentally disabled residents. So image having a child that you know will never be treat as a equal in this cruel world & then when you do trust someone with your child, those people set up human "dog fights" starring your baby! The idiots were dumn enough to video tape the fights on their camera phones as seen in this photo. As long as we are on this train of thought, Michael Vick's sentence for dogfighting has come to an end. At least he did time. Plea deals are in the works, one person has already cut a deal...Suspended sentence and probation! I am all for cutting deals & God knows I am well versed with probation, but how can we send some to prison for fighting dogs but send them home for fighting children with disabilities? This happened in Texas which only adds to the drama! The Governor of Texas, Rick Perry Rick Perry recently vetoed a bill to ban the execution of mentally retarded death-row inmates! So if we can kill them why not fight them, right?! Hello!!!!! These people have no voice. We are their voice. The men and women WE elect to office need to be reminded that people with challenges are our children, our brothers & sisters, our families!

The Presets~ “Apocalypso”
The Australian duo known as The Presets are a sure fired example that dance music can have an edge & is not always about partying or breathy vocals or screaming diva. The album as a whole is a roller coaster of beats and textures with a common dark, industrial edge yet synthy Electro-Pop through and through. Julian Hamilton (the lead singer) manages to create a singular key tone in all his vocals, reminiscent of early punk music such as the Sex Pistols, yet the other half of duo, Kim Moyes, manages to sprinkle just enough glitter and softness from the musical side that makes for a unique hybrid. The album is littered with references to Australian Culture, complete with a track called Eucalyptus very representative of the booming music scene rising from our friends down under. The two singles jump off the album. “This Boy’s In Love” and “If I Know You” , both very New Order/Yaz/Depeche Mode-Esque in nature which is always a turn on for me. Coincidentally Vince Clark himself remixed “If I Know You” for the maxi-single. If your into Sex, Drugs and Rock & Roll with fashion sex appeal this album is for you.

DJ AM's Ironic Passing, Boy About Town's Buzz Box~Is NeNe Joining Us At Pearl Day? And LA Is Burning...AGAIN!

So since DJ AM's death on Friday in his NYC apt. people have been trying figure out exactly what caused his death. Some say it was an accidental death from a drug overdose & others say it was a suicide. Whatever the truth turns out to be DJ AM had overcome so much in the past few years. In September 2008, DJ AM along with rocker Travis Barker survived a Lear Jet plane crash in which all others on board were killed. DJ AM (Adam Goldstein) had lost about half of his weight a few years ago & it had given him a new lease on life. Then of course he had been vocal about his struggles with addiction. DJ AM was working on a new show with MTV called "Gone Too Far", which could be tragically ironic if it turns out his death was indeed caused by the use of drugs.

"There's no reason why I should have lived or why I lived and they didn't," DJ AM said. "But I am alive & I'm here & I have to do something better with my life now ... I struggled for years as a drug addict and was fortunate to get help when I asked for it. I have managed to live a clean and sober life, something that takes work and something that I pride myself on. 'Gone Too Far' is my platform to help people, like I was helped, by giving back in a way." ...DJ AM

Boy's Buzz Box....She's Back.....Carrie Prejean the former Miss California USA, has sued pageant officials for libel, slander and religious discrimination. Miss personality sued the California pageant executive director, Keith Lewis, and the actress and former Miss USA Shanna Moakler, who served as a co-director before resigning in protest of Ms. Prejean. Let's recap....Ms. Prejean was fired in June by pageant officials who said she missed several scheduled appearances. Her lawyer, Chuck LiMandri, said that was not true. And Lord knows Carrie is such a moral authority that she hates lairs...Ummm, whatever! Our Kid About Town was out & about in Hollywood when see came across Ciara. Nothing to shocking there. What was a tad odd was Ms. Ciara was serving ice cream! If this was a PR stunt it worked...because I am writing about it! Check out the pic Kid snapped! Ciara working! Shocking huh! Now let's move on to another shocking, sassy gal. NeNe from the Real Housewives Of Atlanta may just be bring her own brand of attitude to Pearl Day! Before I tell you all to live fabulous I wanted to touch on the fires that are burning outta control in & around LA. I have lived through fire season in California & it is just a fact of life. But when those fires start & the sky the fills with smoke the feeling of powerlessness is total. People lose everything & the whole area lives on edge. So we will continue to keep an eye on the fires while keeping those people affected in our hearts.
